NASHVILLE  − Tennessee Health Commissioner John Dreyzehner, MD, MPH, will join other state and local officials on Wednesday, March 20, at the open house at the new Cumberland County Health Department in Crossville.

The Tennessee Department of Health Upper Cumberland Primary Care Project received a $4.5 million U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration grant to construct a new Cumberland County Health Department clinic. The Cumberland County Health Department is a federally qualified health center and had outgrown its previous facility due to increased demand for services. The current health center provides more than 29,700 patient visits annually in the medically-underserved area.

The new health clinic has been constructed as an environmentally sustainable facility built according to the United States Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, Silver level certification requirements.
