Tennessee Forestry Commission to Meet Feb. 19

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Forestry Commission will meet Feb. 19 at 9 a.m. CST in the Bruer Building conference room at Ellington Agricultural Center, located at 440 Hogan Road in Nashville. 

The commission will meet briefly to approve minutes from the previous meeting and to review legislative presentations. The commission will make its annual presentation on Tennessee’s forest resource and the Division of Forestry to the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 and to the Senate Energy, Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee at 2 p.m. on Feb. 20 at Legislative Plaza, located at 601 6th Avenue North in Nashville. Tuesday’s agenda also includes a visit to Sullivan’s Ridge, a green building design update and a review of the division’s proposed FY 2014 budget.  

The meeting and legislative committee presentations are open to the public. Individuals interested in addressing the commission should plan to arrive prior to the start of the meeting in order to be placed on the agenda.

The Tennessee Forestry Commission comprises seven members representing the public’s interests as it relates to forest resources in the state.
