Friday, December 27, 2013 | 04:07am

NASHVILLE --- “Pickin’ Up Tennessee Tour” will be the topic for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s first Nature @ Noontime program of 2014. The program will be held from noon-1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2 at the TWRA Region II Ray Bell Building.

Marge Davis, a freelance writer and editor specializing in environmental and conservation issues will be the speaker. She will talk about an awareness-raising effort about the impacts of litter that was held last June. Chattanooga filmmakers Dave Porfiri and Linda Duvoisin and their school-age daughters Jane and Harlan made a month-long journey traveling from Reelfoot Lake to the Great Smoky Mountains. They were surrounded by cameras, computers and recording equipment as their trips and efforts were documented.

Hosted by the Information and Education Division, Nature @ Noontime is held the first Thursday of each month with the exception of July. TWRA Nature @ Noontime presentations are about natural resources related topics and last about 30-45 minutes, allowing time for discussion during the allotted lunch hour. Contact Don King (615) 781-6500 or by e-mail: don.king@tn.gov for more information.
