There will be no lane closures permitted on any Interstates or State Routes after 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 (Christmas Eve) through 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 due to the Christmas Holiday.

BLOUNT COUNTY, Washington Street between East Broadway Avenue and High Street in Maryville: Motorists should be alert for possible lane shifts and temporary lane closures at various times through this project. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

BLOUNT COUNTY, US 411/ SR 35 between S. Washington Street and Wilcox Street: Motorists should be alert for possible lane shifts and temporary lane closures at various times through this project. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North between Mile Markers 157 and 159:  Motorists should use caution through this area as crews work to complete this rock fall mitigation project. 

Friday, December 20, 2013 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. motorists should be alert for a lane closure while crews perform pavement stripping on this project.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North and South between Mile Markers 156 and the Kentucky State Line: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures as crews complete final items through this resurfacing project. Motorists should be alert for reduced speed limits, workers present and use extreme caution through this area.

CARTER COUNTY, SR 362 Gap Creek Road between SR 361 and Tester Road: Gap Creek Road (SR 362) is closed to thru traffic and detoured for approximately one year as crews complete roadway construction widening in this area.  Motorists should follow signed detour route and adjust travel times accordingly. Motorists should be alert for changed conditions and use extreme caution in this area.

CARTER COUNTY, SR 67 at Williams Avenue: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures with flagging personnel present at various times through this intersection improvement project. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

CARTER COUNTY, SR 91 at Judge Don Lewis Blvd.: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures with flagging personnel present at various times through this intersection improvement project. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

COCKE COUNTY, US 25/70/SR 9 Bridge over the French Broad River at Log Mile 21.6: The historic Wolf Creek Bridge on US 25/70/SR 9 over the French Broad River is closed to thru traffic as crews perform work on this bridge rehabilitation project. The bridge will be closed thru March of 2014. Separate signed detours will be in place for passenger and commercial vehicles.  Motorists should adjust travel times accordingly and use caution through this area. COCKE/JEFFERSON COUNTY, US 25E/SR 32 Bridge over the French Broad River:  Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures with flagging personnel present at various times through this bridge construction project near the Cocke and Jefferson County line. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

CLAIBORNE COUNTY, US 25E/SR 32 Bridge over the Powell River at Log Mile 15.96: Motorists should be alert for lane closures through this bridge repair project.  Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use extreme caution in this area.

HAMBLEN COUNTY, I-81 North and South near Exit 8:   Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution through this interchange improvement project.

HAMBLEN COUNTY, SR 32/US 25E near I-81 Interchange: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures and flag persons directing traffic at various times through this project.  Motorists should be alert for new and changing conditions, workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

HAMBLEN COUNTY, SR 32/US 25E near College Park Drive:  Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures at various times and changing conditions through this project.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

HAMBLEN COUNTY, US 11E/SR 34 at the US 25E/SR 32 Interchange: Motorists should be alert for a temporary lane closure at various times during daylight hours through this ramp re-construction project.  Motorists should be alert for reduced speeds and use extreme caution in this area.

HANCOCK COUNTY, SR 70/SR 33 Interchange: Motorists should be alert for temporary lane closures at various times during daylight hours through this bridge construction project.  Motorists should be alert for reduced speeds and use extreme caution in this area.

HAWKINS COUNTY, Longs Bend Road Bridge over the Holston River at Log Mile 9.47: Longs Bend Road is closed to thru traffic and detoured as crews perform bridge work in this area. This closure is estimated to be in place through December 22, 2013.  Motorists should follow signed detours and use caution in this area.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, I-40 East and West Bridge over the French Broad River near Mile Marker 425: I-40 East and West across the bridge over Douglas Lake near Mile Marker 425 is reduced to one lane in each direction as crews continue this bridge rehabilitation project.  These lane reductions will be in place around the clock for approximately two years.  Motorists should be alert for lane shifts and narrowed lanes in this area.  Traffic loads in excess of 12 feet in width will be prohibited and must follow a detour route.  The wide load detour will be US 25/SR 9 between Exits 424 and 432. Motorists should expect potential delays in this area during peak travel times.  Local traffic should consider using US 25/SR 9 as an alternate route during peak travel periods.  I-81 and I-26 may be used as an alternate route for I-40 “thru traffic” to by-pass this project during peak travel periods. JEFFERSON COUNTY, US 11E/SR 34 between Rocktown Road and Morelock Road: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures daily through this project as crews complete final items through this bridge repair project.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area. 

KNOX COUNTY, SR 62 (Oak Ridge Hwy. /Western Ave.) between Schaad Road and Copper Kettle Road: Motorists should be alert for temporary lane closures at various times throughout this widening project.  Motorists traveling in this area should be alert for workers and equipment present and be alert for changing traffic conditions, detours, traffic shifts and use caution through this area. Woodsmith Road at SR 62 is closed to thru traffic for construction. The following roads are currently closed to thru traffic for construction: Shortt Road at Western Avenue; South Hinton Road between Western Avenue and Third Creek Road; Jimmy Carter Road at Western Avenue and Beaver Ridge Road at Western Avenue.  A short section of Ball Camp Pike between Western Avenue and Goldenrod Street is also closed for construction.  Motorists should be alert for changing conditions and follow signed detour routes. KNOX COUNTY, US 441/SR 33 Henley Bridge over Tennessee River in Downtown Knoxville: The Henley Bridge is now re-open to one lane of traffic in each direction.  The outside lanes of the bridge remain closed as crews continue to work on this project.  For updated project information, go to http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/henley/

KNOX COUNTY, SR 158 Neyland Drive approaching the Henley Bridge: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures on weekdays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through this area as crews perform overhead bridge work.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area. . KNOX COUNTY, SR 131 Emory Road between Gill Road and Clinton Highway: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures with flagging personnel present at various times through this widening project for bridge construction, utility and equipment crossings.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

KNOX COUNTY, Watt Road/Old Stage Road Improvement Project: Old Stage Road is closed to through traffic from Johnson’s Corner Road to Shipley Lane.  Access to all properties will be maintained.  Through traffic is encouraged to use alternate routes.  Closure is anticipated to remain through Fall 2013. Motorists should be alert for changing conditions and use caution in this area.

KNOX COUNTY, SR 1 (Kingston Pike) West between Northshore Drive and Papermill Road: On Friday, December 20, 2013, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. as crews perform guardrail repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

LOUDON COUNTY, US 321/SR 73/ SR 95 underneath I-40 at Exit 364: Motorists should be alert for possible daily lane closures underneath I-40 during daylight hours as crews perform overhead bridge repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use caution in this area.

LOUDON COUNTY, US 321/SR 73 between SR 2 and City Park Drive: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures at various times through this project. Motorists should be alert for changing conditions, workers present, construction equipment and use extreme caution through this area.

ROANE COUNTY, I-40 East and West near Exit 347:.  During this phase, crews will be performing repairs in the center lane across the bridge. The left lane will be narrowed to 12 feet in width with no shoulders. Traffic exiting at Exit 347 must use the right lane approaching this area.  Wide loads traveling I-40 East must use the right lane approaching this area. Motorists should be alert for lane shifts, narrowed lanes, closed shoulders, reduced speeds, construction personnel and equipment present and expect potential delays through this bridge repair project. Motorists traveling in the right lane of I-40 East approaching the exit ramp at Exit 347 should use extreme caution and be prepared for motorists slowing down to use the exit ramp.

On Sunday, December 22, 2013 beginning at 7 p.m. through Monday, December 23, 2013 at 6 a.m. there will be a lane closure on I-40 West near Mile Marker 347 as crews perform emergency pavement repairs.  (In the event of bad weather, this work will be moved to Monday night, December 23, 2013 thru Tuesday Morning, December 24, 2013)

ROANE COUNTY, US 27 underneath I-40 Exit 347: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures daily in this area as crews perform overhead bridge work.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

ROANE COUNTY, SR 1 /US 27 over Shanty Branch near Poland Hollow Road: Motorists should be alert for traffic shifts and new traffic patterns through this bridge repair project.  Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use extreme caution in this area.

SCOTT COUNTY, SR 29 Bridge over Roaring Paunch Creek near Log Mile 24.7 and 25.8: SR 29 is reduced to one lane around the clock and controlled by a temporary traffic signal as crews begin this bridge repair project.  Motorists should be alert for changed conditions and use extreme caution in this area.

SEVIER COUNTY, SR 66 in Sevierville SR 139 (Douglas Dam Rd.) and SR 338 W (Boyd’s Creek Hwy): Short duration traffic stops in both directions may occur daily Monday through Friday through this project for utility crossings. SULLIVAN COUNTY, US 11E/SR 34 at US 19E/SR 37: A temporary detour of SR 37/US19E is in place at the intersection of SR 34/US 11E. Traffic signals have been installed and are operational at the intersection of SR34/37 and SR37/44. The detour is estimated to be in place until August 2014. Motorists should be alert for changed conditions and follow signed detours. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use extreme caution through this bridge construction and intersection reconstruction project.

UNICOI COUNTY, SR 107 at Main Street:  Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert for construction personnel and equipment entering and exiting this construction project.

UNION COUNTY, Existing SR 33 Bridge over Clinch River (Norris Lake) Weight Restrictions: The existing State Route 33 Bridge over Norris Lake is posted with weight limit restrictions and is being strictly enforced.  Weight restrictions are: 5 axle vehicles are 35 tons; 3 or 4 axle vehicle is 22 tons; 2 axle vehicles are 20 tons.  VEHICLES WEIGHING IN EXCESS OF THE RESTRICTED WEIGHTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO CROSS THE BRIDGE AND MUST FOLLOW A DETOUR ROUTE. Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures with flaggers directing traffic at various times and use extreme caution approaching the bridge.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, SR 81 at SR 353: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures at various times and use extreme caution through this intersection improvement project.

WASHINGTON/SULLIVAN COUNTY, SR 75 between SR 36 and SR 357: Intermittent lane closures will be implemented in the north and south bound lanes throughout the construction project at various times.  Motorists should expect potential delays, be alert for changing conditions and use caution in this area.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, SR 36 between SR 354 and SR 75: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures and flag persons directing traffic at various times through this project.  Roseview Drive is closed to thru traffic as construction continues in this area.  Motorists can access Roseview Drive via Boone Avenue during this time. Orchard Avenue is closed.  Access to Browns Road from SR36 will be closed.  Traffic can access Browns Road using Boones Creek Road. Traffic is still shifted at Spurgeon Island Road.  Traffic will also be shifted from Boone Avenue to Boring Chapel Road.  From Boone Avenue to near Hammitt Road will be split traffic separated by a barrier wall.  From Hammitt Road to Boring Chapel Road will be two lane traffic shifted to the right side of centerline.  Short duration traffic stops in both directions may occur daily through this project for utility and equipment crossings.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.
