NASHVILLE – The TN Department of Labor & Workforce Development is relocating its Career Center services currently at 1610 University Avenue in Knoxville to 2700 Middlebrook Pike.

The new office at 2700 Middlebrook Pike will be open for business at 8:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 15. The University Avenue Career Center will be closed Friday, October 11, and Monday, October 14. The Resource Center, normally open on Saturday mornings, will be closed on Saturday, October 12.

“The Knoxville Career Center will continue to offer a full range of services to job seekers under one roof. We look forward to assisting Knox County residents in our new location,” said Labor & workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips.

Career Center staff helps job seekers connect with employers who have listed jobs with both the Career Center and with Jobs4TN.gov – the department’s online database that has an average of 90,000 jobs. In the Resource Center, job applicants can get career information, use the Internet, take part in job preparation workshops, and post résumés. Employers can request prescreening and pretesting and use office space for interviewing qualified workers.

Tennessee Career Centers have veterans’ representatives available to assist with referrals to employment and training and to other agencies for special services.

The Knoxville Career Center at 2700 Middlebrook Pike is a stop on the Knoxville Area Transit system, Beaumont #13 route. Ample parking is also available.

The phone number for the Knoxville Career Center remains (865) 594-5500.
