West Tennessee Weekly Construction October 3-9, 2013

BENTON COUNTY, SR-69:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing beginning at Rocky Ridge Road to the Henry County line.  A flagman will be on site.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-424:  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over an overflow and the Big Sandy River.  Wednesday October 2 through October 9:  A signal system is being utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 10’ lane restriction.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-424:  :  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over the Rutherford Fork Obion River and overflows.  Wednesday October 2 through October 9: A signal system is being utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 9.5’ lane restriction.

CHESTER COUNTY, SR-22:  Bridge Repair on State Route 22 over Dry Creek at the intersection of Willis Road.  Wednesday October 2 through October 9:  A signal system is active and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 11’ lane restriction.  A detour will be put in place for Willis Road during the lane closure.

CHESTER COUNTY, SR-365:  Temporary lanes closures each day for resurfacing beginning at US-45 Bypass (State Route 5) and extending to White Avenue.

CROCKETT COUNTY, SR-20:  Temporary lanes closures each day for resurfacing beginning at the Dyer County line to Lyons/Birmingham Road.

CROCKETT COUNTY, SR-20:  Northbound outside lane at log mile 1.66 to log mile 1.28 will be closed approximately a month for intersection improvements.  Southbound outside lane at log mile 1.20 to log mile 1.47 will be closed approximately a month for intersection improvements.

CROCKETT/GIBSON COUNTY, SR-188:  Construction of five (5) concrete box beam bridges on State Route 188 at the Crockett/Gibson County line. The roadway is CLOSED with a detour route posted.

DECATUR COUNTY, SR-114:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing beginning at State Route 202 to the Henderson County line.

DECATUR COUNTY, SR-202:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing beginning at State Route 69 to State Route 20.

DYER COUNTY, SR-104:  Bridge Repair on State Route 104 over overflow.  A signal system will be utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 10’ 9” lane restriction.

FAYETTE COUNTY, I-40, Interchange at SR 222:  Wednesday October 2 through October 9:  The east and westbound shoulders at Exit 42 are CLOSED.

FAYETTE and SHELBY COUNTY, (SR-385) Future I-269:  Construction of I-269 from the interchange with State Route 385 to the Mississippi State line.  The project intersects with US 72 (State Route 86) in the area of the Mann Road intersection.  State Route 86 is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge construction in the median.  Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway from the construction zone and also crossing the roadway.

FAYETTE COUNTY, SR-76:  Construction of four (4) bridges on State Route 76 over North Fork Wolf River and overflows.  Roadway is OPEN, intermittent lane closures possible with flagmen.

FAYETTE COUNTY, SR-194:  Six (6) bridges are being replaced on State Route 194 between State Route 57 and State Route 15 (US-64).  Motorists should watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the work zones.

FAYETTE COUNTY, SR-194:  Temporary lane closures are possible for the installation of safety improvements on State Route 194 in Fayette County.  A flagman will be onsite to direct traffic.

FAYETTE COUNTY SR-196:  Temporary lanes closures are possible for the installation of safety improvements on State Route 196 in Fayette County.  A flagman will be on site to direct traffic when the new signs are being installed.

GIBSON COUNTY, SR-43:  Temporary lane closures each day on US-45E (State Route 43) beginning at State Route 187 extending to Woodlawn Street.

GIBSON COUNTY, SR-104:  A widening project from west of State Route 188 to Milligan Lane and Gumwoods Road will result in temporary lane closures each day.  Traffic has been shifted from east of State Route 188 to the proposed eastbound lanes.

GIBSON COUNTY, SR-152:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing beginning at the WTNN Railroad to the Madison County line.

GIBSON COUNTY, SR-186:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing at State Route 76 to Wallsmith Branch Bridge.

GIBSON COUNTY, SR-366:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing beginning north of State Route 5 (Viking Drive to (US-70A/79) State Route 76.  Traffic is reduced to one lane with flagmen.

HARDEMAN COUNTY, SR-15:  A widening project between East of Margin Street to near Hornsby Loop Road.  All lanes are OPEN.  Ongoing work could cause temporary lane closures throughout project.  Flaggers are present.

HARDEMAN COUNTY, SR-15:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing beginning at the Fayette County line and extending to the bridge over Clear Creek.

HARDEMAN COUNTY, SR-18:  Construction of a concrete box beam bridge and paving on State Route 18 over Cypress Creek.  Wednesday October 2 through October 9:  There will be lane closures north and southbound with a temporary signal in place.  One lane will remain open, in each direction. 

HARDEMAN COUNTY, SR-100:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing beginning at the US-64BR (West Main Street) and extending to US-64BR (East Main Street).

HARDIN COUNTY, SR-114:  Bridge Repair over the Tennessee River at Clifton. Wednesday October 2 through October 9:  There will be lane shifts east and westbound on State Route 114.

HAYWOOD COUNTY,  I-40:  Construction for the West Tennessee Solar Farm and Welcome Center, including removal of Albright Road bridge.

Saturday October 5, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  I-40 eastbound will be CLOSED from Exit 35 to Exit 56, for the demolition of Albright Road overhead bridge.  Detour route will be posted.  Westbound I-40 will be reduced to one lane.  THP will assist with traffic control.  WEATHER PERMITTING.

LOOK AHEAD: Saturday October 12, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  I-40 westbound will be CLOSED from Exit 35 to Exit 56, for the demolition of Albright Road overhead bridge.  Detour route will be posted.  Eastbound I-40 will be reduced to one lane.  THP will assist with traffic control.

HAYWOOD COUNTY,  I-40:  Construction at the intersection of State Route 76 & I-40 at the weigh station ramps.

Monday September 30 through Thursday October 3, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 west & eastbound inside shoulder (between mile markers 57-55) for placement of asphalt, for shoulder strengthening.  THP will assist with traffic control.

Monday September 30 through Thursday October 3, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 west & eastbound outside lanes (between mile markers 51-49) to repair failure area with asphalt.  THP will assist with traffic control.

Sunday October 06 through Thursday October 10, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m:  There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 westbound & eastbound for the installation of barrier rail.

HENDERSON COUNTY, I-40:  Bridge repair project over Middle Fork Forked Deer River (between mile marker 98-99) & over Dabbs Creek (between mile markers 112-114).  The shoulders are closed at (Middle Forked Deer River) east and westbound.

HENDERSON COUNTY, SR-20:  A widening project on State Route 20 (US-412) from State Route 114 to the Decatur County Line.  All lanes (new and existing) and adjacent side roads are now OPEN.  Ongoing work could cause temporary lane closures throughout project.  Flaggers are present.

HENDERSON COUNTY, SR-22:  A bridge repair project will cause lane closures on State Route 22 over I-40 in both north and southbound lanes.

HENDERSON COUNTY, SR-104:  Bridge repair project over the Beech River. Wednesday October 2 through October 9:  Temporary lane closures north and southbound on SR 104 with temporary signal in place. One lane will remain open, in each direction.

LAKE COUNTY, SR-22:  A widening project on State Route 22, south of State Route 21 in Tiptonville to existing State Route 22 (Cates Landing Rd.).  There are lane shifts throughout the project.  State Route 22 is closed from intersection of State Route 212 and Vaughn Road North to Cates Landing Road. Detour 3.5 miles on Vaughn Road to State Route 22 Cates Landing Road.

LAUNDERDALE COUNTY, SR-3:  Bridge Repair on 2 bridges on US-51 (State Route 3) over Chambers Branch.  LOOK AHEAD:  Beginning October 16, 2013, traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10’ 6” lane restriction.

LAUNDERDALE COUNTY, SR-87:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing beginning east of Green Chapel Road State Route 3.

LAUNDERDALE COUNTY, SR-208:  A widening project on State Route 208 (State Route 209/Cleveland Street) beginning at State Route 209 (Washington Street) and extending to State Route 208 at US-51/State Route 3 in Ripley.  There will be temporary lane closures daily.

LAUNDERDALE COUNTY, SR-209:  Miscellaneous safety improvements at the intersection of State Route 209 and Heathcott Road.  There will be temporary lane closure for the duration of this project.

MADISON COUNTY, SR-1:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing beginning at State Route 223 to State Route 186.

MADISON COUNTY, SR-223:  Temporary lane closures each day for resurfacing beginning at State Route 138 to James Lawrence Road.

MCNAIRY COUNTY, SR-224:  Construction of a concrete box beam bridge on State Route 224 over Graham Creek.  Roadway is CLOSED until Tuesday October 15, 2013 with a detour route posted.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55:  The I-55 Welcome Center is CLOSED due to construction of a new facility.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over MS River Phase 8:  Wednesday October 02 through Wednesday October 09:  The left (inside) shoulder of the exit ramp for westbound Interstate 40 to Second Street is closed.  The Eastbound EXIT to Front Street is closed.  Traffic on Front Street between Jackson Avenue and Poplar Avenue is restricted to one lane in each direction.  Beginning Monday, October 7, 2013, the right lane of the entrance ramp from Front Street to Westbound I-40 from will be CLOSED.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over MS River Phase 9: Wednesday October 02 through Wednesday October 09:  West of the I-40 MS River Bridge, the outside eastbound lane is closed. The lane closure is anticipated to remain in place until December 2013.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Memphis Smartway Transportation (ITS) I-40 beginning at SR-177 (Germantown Road) in Shelby County extending to Braden Road Overpass in Fayette County: Wednesday October 02 through Wednesday October 09:  There are no scheduled closures.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 westbound over Levee Road  Wednesday October 2 through October 9:  The westbound shoulder will be closed for the duration of the project.  Levee Road between Thomas Street (State Route 3) and N. Bellevue Blvd. will be CLOSED during construction.  Detour route is posted.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 Mississippi River Bridge: Monday September 30 through Friday October 04, 9:00 a. m.-4:00 p. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures north & southbound, for the purpose of special repair and preventative maintenance activities on the I-55 Mississippi River Bridge.  Two lanes will be closed.  One lane will remain open.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-240 North of SR-385 to North of Walnut Grove Rd.: Wednesday October 2 through October 9:  A widening project on I-240 will cause temporary lane closures. Traffic has been moved to temporary ramps at the Walnut Grove interchange.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-14 (US-61):  A replacement of the bridge over Illinois Central Railroad from South Parkway to McLemore Avenue. A detour route is posted.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-57:   There will be temporary lane closures every day throughout the project. Motorists should travel with caution.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-86 (US-72):  Construction on State Route 86 (US-72) for a widening project north of Quinn Road to State Route 57 (Poplar Avenue) in Collierville. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction.  South Rowlett Street is closed to through traffic in the vicinity of the State Route 86 bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad.  Motorists may use Wilson Street to Harris Street as a detour.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-175 (Shelby Drive): Resurfacing beginning at Swinnea to north of State Route 176 (Getwell Avenue):  Sunday September 29 through Thursday October 3, 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m:  There will be temporary lane closures in both directions to replace existing handicap ramps paving and striping.  Two lanes will remain open.

SHELBY COUNTY, -Grade, drain, pave SR-177 (Germantown Rd); Crestridge Rd to Stout Rd:

Wednesday October 02 through Wednesday October 09:  There will be intermittent lane closures on State Route 177 (Germantown Road), between Germantown City Limits to Stout Road. Flagmen will be utilized during these closures to ensure safety from oncoming traffic and falling tree limbs.  The closures will be intermittent and for as short a time as possible.

SHELBY COUNTY, -Resurfacing on SR-385 beginning at SR-175 (Byhalia Road) overhead bridge LM-12.51 and extending to west of the bridge over US-72 (SR-86) LM-14.36

Wednesday October 2 through October 9:  State Route 385 will be down to one lane in each direction at the bridge over State Route 175 (Byhalia Rd.).  The contractor will be performing milling and paving operations.  One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction.

SHELBY and FAYETTE COUNTY, SR 385:  Construction on State Route 385 from State Route 57 Poplar Ave. in Piperton to State Route 193 Macon Rd. in Fisherville. Trucks may be entering the highway in the area of State Route 193 (Macon Road) and State Route 385 intersection. 

TDOT REGION 4, On-Call Guardrail:  Monday October 7 & Tuesday October 8, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations, to repair damaged guardrail.

• I-40, Henderson/Madison Counties, eastbound & westbound (MM 78.0 to MM 118.0), one lane will remain open.  Also, this will include a temporary ramp closure at the I-40 westbound “On” ramp at Exit 82 and the I-40 eastbound “On” ramp at Exit 93.
• I-40, Shelby County, eastbound (MM 10.0 to MM 14.0), one lane will remain open.
• I-240, Shelby County, southbound (MM 13.0 to MM 14.0), one lane will remain open.
• I-240, Shelby County, southbound (MM 28.0 to MM 30.0), one lane will remain open.
• I-55, Shelby County, northbound & southbound (MM 5.0 to MM 12.5), one lane will remain open.  Also, this will include a temporary ramp closure for the I-55 northbound “On” ramp at MM 12.1/Metal Museum Exit.

TDOT REGION 4, On-Call Retracing of Pavement Marking with Paint:

Wednesday October 2 through Sunday October 6, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations, for the replacement of proposed thermo retracing lane line, including ramps.

• I-40, Benton County, eastbound & westbound (MM 125.0 to MM 133.0), one lane will remain open.

TDOT REGION 4, On-Call Pavement Repair

Monday October 7 through Thursday October 10, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m. nightly & Friday October 11, 8:00 p. m. through Monday October 14, 6:00 a. m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations, for the repair of damaged concrete.

• SR-186/45 BYP, Madison County northbound & southbound between Old Hickory Blvd and Airways Blvd., one lane will remain open.  Work will consist of sawing and concrete repairs.

TDOT MAINTENANCE:  Wednesday October 2 through October 9, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.:  There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

TIPTON COUNTY, SR-384:  Construction of a concrete box beam bridge. A temporary signal is being used with the northbound lane CLOSED.  There is one 11’ lane on bridge.

WEAKLEY COUNTY, SR-89:  Temporary lane closures each day for the installation of a flashing beacon at the intersection of State Route 239 in Dresden.  Flagmen will be present.
