TDOT Announces Statewide “Projects Tour”

Tuesday, July 31, 2012 | 07:02am

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer announces the dates for his regional tours of major construction projects across the state. Commissioner Schroer will be traveling on a bus along with elected officials and transportation officials to each of the four TDOT regions. They will be viewing projects currently underway and those listed on the department’s “Three Year Program” that was released in April.

“Not only do these tours give us an opportunity to see some of the major investments we are making across the state, it is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our partnerships with local communities,” said Commissioner Schroer. “Most often, local officials have to travel to Nashville. This is our chance to get a first-hand look at the transportation issues they are facing and engage the public along the way.”
The media is encouraged to attend the visits in each region. Individual agendas for each region are forthcoming. More information can also be found at
The “TDOT Projects Tour” schedule is as follows:
August 13-16:          REGION 2 (based in Chattanooga)
September 10-13:   REGION 4 (based in Jackson)
September 24-27:   REGION 3 (based in Nashville)
October 15-18:        REGION 1 (based in Knoxville)
