U.S. Deputy Wardens Meet In Nashville

NASHVILLE - The Department of Correction is proud to welcome nearly 100 correctional professionals from across the country to Tennessee this week for the 67th Annual Deputy Warden's Association Conference.  Nashville was selected as the site for this year's conference which will be held at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel July 29 - August 2, 2012.

"It is an honor to have these valued leaders come together in Nashville this week to share in their achievements and learn best practices that have proven effective in corrections," Commissioner Derrick D. Schofield said.

"We are very pleased to be in the great State of Tennessee for our annual conference," Kevin Murphy, Executive Director of the United States Deputy Warden's Assocation said.  "The Tennessee Department of Correction is in the top tier of correctional agencies across the country and we're proud to work alongside this agency to provide a week of exceptional training and networking with Deputy Wardens from across the country."

Deputy Warden Charles Simmons of the Charles Bass Correctional Complex in Nashville has been elected President of the Association.
