Turney Center Prison Incident

NASHVILLE - The Department of Correction is investigating an incident at the Turney Center Industrial Prison in Hickman County in which two officers and two inmates were injured.

The officers suffered non-life threatening injuries while responding to an altercation in their assigned unit around 6:00 p.m. Friday evening.  One officer was treated at an area hospital and released.  The other officer was expected to be released from the hospital on Saturday.

One of the inmates remains hospitalized.  The other inmate was released from the hospital and transported back to the secure facility.  Their names have not been released.

While the incident was isolated to one unit at the prison, the entire facility remains on lockdown pending further investigation.
