There will be no temporary lane closures permitted on interstates or state routes beginning at noon on Friday, May 25 through 6am Tuesday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day Holiday

 BENTON COUNTY US-70 (SR-1):  Bridge repair work over Hunting Creek log mile 0.43 will cause a reduction in both directions from two lanes to one.  There will be a 12’ width restriction throughout the duration of the project.  Closures will be handled by a temporary traffic signal.  

BENTON COUNTY US-70 (SR-1):  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures beginning at Charlie Creek bridge log mile 15.60 and extending to north of Eva-Flatwoods Road log mile 20.98.  Flagmen are present. 


CARROLL COUNTY SR-1:  Grading, drainage, SR-1 (US-70) at the intersection of Baker Road and Voss Road log mile 15.67 will cause lane closures and/or lane shifts while project is being built. 

CARROLL COUNTY SR-22 & SR-364:  Upgrade of signals on SR-22 (Huntingdon Bypass West) & SR-364 (Huntingdon Bypass East). 

CHESTER COUNTY SR-22:  Bridge repair work on State Route 22 over Ditch at log mile 3.70 will cause a reduction in north and southbound lanes.  Closures will be handled by a temporary traffic signal.  One lane will remain open. 

DYER COUNTYSR-211:  Resurfacing on State Route 211 from David Road log mile 4.25 to Biffle Road log mile 8.87. 

FAYETTE COUNTY SR-57:  Grading, drainage, I-beam bridge, three (3) box beam bridges, paving on State Route 57, West of Neville Road over Norfolk Southern Railroad log mile 1.61 to east of Wolf Creek Tributary.  A temporary run-around which will be used to maintain traffic while a new bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad is constructed.  Due to the amount of rail traffic on this new rail line, delays are expected. 

FAYETTE COUNTY SR-76:  Grading, drainage, two (2) I-beam bridges, paving on State Route 76 over overflow log mile 0.55 and North Fork Wolf River log mile 0.74 and Grading, drainage, I-beam bridge, and paving on State Route 76 over overflow log mile 0.93 and Box beam bridge over branch log mile 0.24.  Utility work and shoulder preparation with temporary lane closures with flagmen. 

FAYETTE COUNTY SR-194:  Six(6) bridges are being replaced on State Route 194 between State Route 57 and State Route 15.  Construction has begun on all segments of this project.  This will cause a reduction in lanes from two to one every day due to the use of temporary signals at the Wolf River and overflow bridges.  Construction activities are completed at the bridges at log mile 8.51 and 9.27.  Motorists should watch for construction vehicle entering and exiting the work zones. 

FAYETTE COUNTY SR-194:  Four (4) bridges are being replaced on State Route 194 between State Route 15 (US-64)

and State Route 59.  Both lanes are now open to traffic at log mile 21.71 and 21.91 with no width restriction.  There is still a width restriction in place at log mile 19.74 and 19.63. 

FAYETTE COUNTY, SR-385:  Retaining wall settlement repair at Norfolk Southern Railroad and State Route 57 log mile 1.20.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution. 

GIBSON COUNTY,SR-76:  (Recovery Act Project) A widening project from State Route 43 to the Carroll County line will result in temporary lane closures each day.  Traffic has been switched to north bound lanes.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution. May 29, 2012 Industrial Drive will be closed on the SR-76 end for 4 to 5 weeks to re-grade Industrial Drive. Can access Industrial Drive from SR-104. 

GIBSON COUNTY,SR-104:  A widening project from west of State Route 188 to Milligan Lane and Gumwoods Road will result in temporary lane closures each day.  Contractor is currently clearing and utility work is ongoing.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution. 

GIBSON COUNTY,SR-152:  Bridge repair work on State Route 152 over Dry Branch at log mile 15.22 will cause a reduction in both directions from two lanes to one.  Closures will be handled by a temporary traffic signal.  One lane will remain open. 

GIBSON COUNTY,SR-186:  A six (6) bridge replacement project over Hog Creek at log mile 6.48, Parker Branch at log mile 11.87, and Branches log mile 9.62, 12.01, 12.77, and 13.77.  Traffic will be controlled with temporary traffic signals. Motorists are advised to travel with caution.

GIBSON COUNTY,SR-445:  Grading, paving, construction of box bridge and paving on State Route 445 over branch log mile 1.46.  Traffic has be shifted to a temporary run around.

HARDEMAN COUNTY,SR-57:  Grading, drainage, paving and construction of three (3) bridges over Big Muddy Creek at log mile 20.38, 20.29, and 20.64. Bridge replacement construction will result in narrowed lanes daily.  Watch for trucks entering highway. 

HARDEMAN COUNTY,SR-15:  Between East of Margin Street to near Hornsby Loop Road a widening project will result in a lane shift during the week. Utility work is occurring off the shoulder.  Grading work in progress on north side of State Route 15. 

HAYWOOD COUNTY, SR-76:  Bridge replacement/repair project at log miles 22.99 and 23.98 roadway is OPEN to traffic. 

HENDERSON COUNTY, SR-20:  A widening project on State Route 20 (US-412) from State Route 114 to the Decatur County Line will result in temporary lane closures every day. Working on Phase II will cause lane shifts from log mile 19.79 to log mile 22.34. Flagmen will be present.  Wallace Road and Boren Road are now OPEN.  Due to ongoing construction, Union Baptist Road is CLOSED.  Detour route is posted.  Traffic has been shifted from existing roadway onto new roadway from log mile 23.04 to log mile 24.87.  Motorists are advised to use caution when going through a construction project. 

HENRY COUNTY, SR-218:  Miscellaneous safety improvements will cause temporary lane closure, in both directions daily. 

LAKE COUNTY, SR-22:  A widening project on State Route 22, south of State Route 21 in Tiptonville to existing State Route 22 (Cades Landing Rd.)  There will temporary lane closures to allow for roadway construction.  Flagmen will be used to direct traffic. 

LAKE / OBION COUNTY, SR-21 over Reelfoot Lake Spillway LM-7.80:Grading, drainage, construction of I-beam bridge and paving.  All work at this time is on the spillway structure. 

LAKE / OBION COUNTY, Reelfoot Lake on SR-21:  Grading, drainage, spillway and paving. 

MADISON COUNTY, I-40:

  • Tuesday May 29 through Friday June 01, 7 p.m.-6 a.m.:  Resurfacing eastbound and westbound beginning at the Haywood County line log mile 0.00 and extending to Lower Brownsville Road log mile 7.36. 

MCNAIRY COUNTY, Selmer Access Road:  Intersection improvement including grading, drainage, and paving beginning at Tennessee Avenue (UT Martin Selmer Campus) and extending to US-45/SR-5.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution. 

MCNAIRY COUNTY, US-45 (SR-5):  Resurfacing  work on South of Allen McCoy Road log mile 4.36 to US-64/SR-15 log mile 11.78, including bridge deck repair.  Contractor is currently performing milling operations.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution.

MCNAIRY COUNTY, SR-224:  Grading, drainage, construction of a box beam bridge and paving on State Route 224 over Melton Creek log mile 23.80.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution. 

 MCNAIRY COUNTY, SR-224:  Grading, drainage, construction of  two (2) box beam bridges and paving on State Route 224 over Owl Creek log mile 4.99 and Lick Creek log mile 13.96 & grading, drainage, construction of a box beam bridge and paving on State Route 224 over Clarey Creek log mile 12.57.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution. 

OBION COUNTY, Future I-69:  Grading, drainage, construction of 9 bridges, and paving on Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR 5/SR 22 to 0.78 mile west of SR 21.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution. 

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over MS River Phase 8

  • Wednesday May 23 through Wednesday May 30:  Ramp IL, the westbound entrance ramp located just east

of the arch spans and which carries traffic from Front Street to Interstate 40, will be closed for about three months.  Traffic will be detoured to Exit 1B (Danny Thomas Boulevard).  Traffic may also use Ramp D from Riverside Drive to access westbound Interstate 40.  The width of Ramp D (On ramp from Riverside Drive to Interstate 40) will be reduced on May 14th, 2012 until May 25th.  The ramp will remain open, however; traffic may be shifted to the left or right.  The outside southbound lane of Front Street in the vicinity of the Ramp IL/Jackson Avenue intersection will also be closed for about three months.  The left (inside) shoulder of Ramp J, the exit ramp for westbound Interstate 40 to Second Street, will be closed for about six months.  Ramp J will remain open at all times. 

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over MS River Phase 9:

  • Wednesday May 23 through Wednesday May 30:  Seismic Retrofit of the Mississippi River Bridge. 

SHELBY COUNTY, Bridge Repairs on I-40 Westbound “Off” Ramp @ EXIT 25

  • Wednesday May 23 through Wednesday May 30:  The “Off” ramp is OPEN to traffic.  The contractor is working on I-240 at Cane Creek. 

SHELBY COUNTY, Bridge Construction SR-3 (US-51/Thomas Street at Wolf River)

  • Wednesday May 23 through Wednesday May 30:  There will be temporary lane closures in both directions.  There is 11’ width restriction, for the duration of the project.

SHELBY COUNTY, Holmes Street:  (Recovery Act Project) Grading, drainage, retaining wall, I-beam bridge and paving on Holmes Street over CSX Railroad log mile 1.09. 

SHELBY COUNTY, SR 57 (US-72 Poplar Ave.) Miller Farms Rd. to Dogwood Rd.

  • Wednesday May 23 through Wednesday May 30:  One lane of both eastbound and westbound Poplar Avenue/SR-57 in Germantown will be closed throughout the duration of the project.  Two lanes of Poplar Avenue/SR-57 will remain open in each direction at all times.  Also, one lane of NB/SB Farmington and NB West Street will be closed throughout the duration of this project.
  • Wednesday May 23 through Wednesday May 30:  The southbound (MM 3.0-MM 3.1) outside lane of Germantown Road/SR-177, north of Poplar Avenue and the northbound outside lane of Germantown Road, south of Poplar Avenue will be closed.  One lane will remain open in each direction.
  • Thursday May 24:  Both Poplar Avenue and Germantown Road will have one lane closed during peak hours, 9:00 a. m.-11:00 a. m. and 1:00 p. m. -3:30 p. m. , to install temporary traffic signals.  At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.  These closures will be at the intersection of Poplar/Arthuwood, Poplar/Farmington-West Street, Poplar/Germantown Road, and Poplar/Exeter.  There will only be one closure at a time.  Proper traffic devices will be used.  City of Germantown police officers will be onsite during the closure.
  • Tuesday May 29 & Wednesday May 30:  Both Poplar Avenue and Germantown Road will have one lane closed during peak hours, 9:00 a. m.-11:00 a. m.  and 1:00 p. m.-3:30 p. m., to install temporary traffic signals.  At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.  These closures will be at the intersection of Poplar/Arthuwood, Poplar/Farmington-West Street, Poplar/Germantown Road, and Poplar/Exeter.  There will only be one closure at a time.  Proper traffic devices will be used.  City of Germantown police officers will be onsite during the closure.

 SHELBY COUNTY, SR-86 (US-72):  Grading, drainage, box beam bridge, 4 retaining walls, paving on State Route 86 (US-72) 0.1 miles north of Quinn Road to State Route 57 (Poplar Avenue) in Collierville.  LOOK AHEAD: Beginning Monday June 04 through Friday July 20:  Sycamore Road @ SR-86/US-72 the road will be closed with access for residence on Sycamore Road from East Shelby Drive.  Detour route will be posted. 

SHELBY COUNTY, SR 385:  Between State Route 57 and State Route 193, grading, drainage, and bridge construction of State Route 385 from State Route 57 Poplar Ave. in Piperton to State Route 193 Macon Rd. in Fisherville. The contractor is currently driving piles, constructing bridge caps, foundations, and columns, and hauling embankment. Trucks will be entering the highway at State Route 205 in the vicinity of the Wolf River and overflow bridges. Trucks will be crossing the highway at Raleigh-LaGrange Road between State Route 205 and State Route 196 and also at Monterey Road between State Route 205 and Fisherville Road.  Trucks will be entering the highway in the area of State Route 193 (Macon Road) and State Route 385 intersection.  Construction work will temporarily slow traffic every day. 

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue:  I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction.  Currently there is access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. The NEW northbound lanes at I-55 are open to traffic.

  • Wednesday May 23 & Thursday May 24, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.:  There will be intermittent lane closures southbound (MM 9.0 to MM 8.0) in order to perform work on Interstate Bridge 2 & 4.  One southbound lane will remain open.  Exit 9 (SB) Mallory Exit will remain closed with traffic being detoured to Exit 8 (Horn Lake Exit).
  • Friday May 25, 9:00 a.m.-Noon:  There will be intermittent lane closures southbound (MM 9.0 to MM 8.0) in order to perform work on Interstate Bridge 2 & 4.  One southbound lane will remain open.  Exit 9 (SB) Mallory Exit will remain closed with traffic being detoured to Exit 8 (Horn Lake Exit).
  • Tuesday May 29 & Wednesday May 30, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.:  There will be intermittent lane closures southbound (MM 9.0 to MM 8.0) in order to perform work on Interstate Bridge 2 & 4.  One southbound lane will remain open.  Exit 9 (SB) Mallory Exit will remain closed with traffic being detoured to Exit 8 (Horn Lake Exit).

SHELBY COUNTY, I-240 North of SR-385 to North of Walnut Grove Rd.:  Grading, drainage,15 retaining walls, 2  noise barrier walls and paving on I-240.  Contractor is approximately 85% complete with wall 1.  Coping and final soil grading for this wall will begin today.  The construction of walls 4 & 5 are underway with wall 5 being roughly 25% complete and wall 1 @ 5% complete.  Drainage structures are being installed along wall 4 and ramp 15E. The erection of wall 7 should begin within the next 2 weeks.  The erection of wall 5 will continue for approximately 2 weeks and wall 4 will be ongoing for at least 5 more weeks.  Pre-cast panels are continuing to be cast off site.  Contractor also expects to begin grading for concrete ramps 15 G and H within next 2 weeks. 

SHELBY COUNTY, Resurfacing I-40; Mississippi River Bridge LM-1.10 to ramp to I-240 LM-2.40

  • Wednesday May 23 through Friday May 25,  7:00 p. m.-6: a. m.:  There will be temporary night time lane closures eastbound and westbound for milling operations.  THP will assist with traffic control.
  • Tuesday May 29 & Wednesday May 30,  7:00 p. m.-6: a. m.:  There will be temporary night time lane closures eastbound and westbound for milling and paving operations.  THP will assist with traffic control. 

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 & I-55

  • Wednesday May 30 through Friday June 01, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.:  There will be temporary lane closures I-40 eastbound outside right lane, then will move to the inside left lane.  Next the closure will move to the westbound outside right lane.  The closure will be needed from the start of the arches to the end of the arches.  Also, I will need the eastbound inside lane on the I-55 bridge for those same dates.  This will span the overhead structures as well.  The I-55 closure will be done after the I-40 lane closure.  This is for the preventative maintenance on the cameras and radars. 

TDOT REGION 4 On-Call Guardrail

Wednesday May 23 through Friday May 25 & Tuesday May 29 & Wednesday May 30, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail. 

  • I-240, Shelby County eastbound (MM 16.0 to MM 16.5), two lanes will remain open.  This work will take place on Mt. Moriah at the ramps leading to and from I-240.  Also, I-240 eastbound “On” and “Off” ramps at Mt. Moriah, CLOSED.
  • I-240, Shelby County westbound (MM 21.5 to MM 22.0), two lanes will remain open.  Also, I-240 westbound “On” ramp from westbound Lamar, CLOSED.
  • I-40, Shelby County eastbound and westbound (MM 11.0 to MM 17.5), two lanes will remain open.

  • Wednesday May 23 &Thursday May 24, 8:00 a. m.-4:00 p. m.:  There will be possible lane closures at various

WEAKLEY COUNTY US-45E (SR-43):  Resurfacing on Old State Route 43 log mile 6.98 to the ramp to State Route 216 log mile 14.45, will cause temporary lane closures daily.  Motorists are advised to travel with caution.

WEAKLEY COUNTY, SR-216:  Bridge replacement over Cane Creek at log mile 2.30, is OPEN to traffic.

WEAKLEY COUNTY, SR-216:  Miscellaneous safety improvements will cause temporary lane closure, in both directions daily.
