Daugherty Ferry Road to Close for Several Months at Bridge over Sale Creek in Hamilton County

Chattanooga, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation is managing a bridge replacement project on Daugherty Ferry Road over Sale Creek in Hamilton County. Beginning on Monday, April 9, 2012, contract crews will close the road to traffic at the bridge for the duration of the project. The project is scheduled to be complete by November 30, 2012. The detour route using Coulterville Road and Elesea Road will be clearly marked.

The project, which will replace the current 58-year-old narrow truss bridge with a concrete box beam bridge, includes grading, drainage and paving work. The contractor for the $859-thousand project is Palmertree Construction Co., LLC of Sewanee, TN.
