West Mount Road Intersection with State Route 66 to Close Temporarily

Thursday, March 01, 2012 | 05:47am
SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – As Phase 2 of the Improving 66 construction project moves forward, motorists should be aware of a temporary road closure:

On Monday, March 5 at 7:00 a.m., West Mount Road will be closed at the intersection with SR 66 as crews place dirt and rock in the area. The closure is expected to be in place for approximately two weeks. TDOT hopes to reopen the intersection by Monday, March 19. The suggested detour accesses West Mount Road from SR-139.
Short duration traffic stops in both directions along SR-66 may occur daily, Monday through Friday, for utility crossings and movement of equipment and materials. Motorists should expect potential delays and use extreme caution while traveling through this area.
