NASHVILLE - An inmate who escaped from a Department of Correction work crew on August 24, 2011 is back in custody.  Jacob Foster, 28, was working with a group of inmates on I-440/I-24 in Davidson County when he ran from correctional officers.

TDOC Internal Affairs Agents tracked Foster to a home in Pflugerville, Texas Monday night.  When agents contacted Texas authorities, it was determined that Foster matched the description of a man who robbed a local bank earlier in the day.  TDOC Agents led Texas authorities to a home in Travis County where Foster was located hiding inside a box spring mattress. He was taken into custody with an undetermined amount of money from the bank.  No one was hurt during the robbery or apprehension.

Prior to his escape, Foster was serving a 23-year sentence for several theft and burglary convictions out of Sumner County.  He will be returned to Tennessee to face escape charges.  Texas authorities will also pursue bank robbery charges against him.
