Public Hearings Slated for Proposed Child Care & Development Fund Plan

WHAT:           The Tennessee Department of Human Services will be conducting three (3) public hearings to receive comments on the state’s proposed Child Care and Development Fund plan to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families for funding the Fiscal Year 2012-2013.
                       
                        The Child Care and Development Fund provides funding to state programs that offer assistance to low-income families through subsidized child care, activities and services to improve the quality and availability of child care, and the regulation of child care agencies throughout the state. Services are provided either directly by the state or through contracts with local governments and non-profit agencies.

Comments on the proposal will be accepted by either letter or e-mail until the conclusion of the public hearing. The draft proposal will be available prior to the date of the public hearings at:http://state.tn.us/humanserv/adfam/cc_main.html
 
Any individual with a disability who wishes to participate in this public hearing should contact DHS in person, in writing, or by telephone at least 10 days prior to the public hearing date, to discuss any auxiliary aids or services needed to facilitate such participation.
