Norris Lake Smallmouth Fishing New Regulations in Effect

Wednesday, April 27, 2011 | 06:58am
NASHVILLE --- The new regulations in regard to smallmouth bass fishing at Norris Lake are in effect as of April 27. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission voted to make the changes based on recommendations from the Norris Lake Fisheries Advisory Committee (NLFAC).

The NLFAC, a community-based group of advisors to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, made the recommendation to implement an 18-inch minimum length limit on smallmouth bass with a creel limit of five from Oct. 16-May 31. From June 1-Oct. 15, there will be a 20-inch minimum length limit with a creel limit of one.

The change replaces the 17-22 inch slot limit. The daily creel limit for largemouth/smallmouth in combination remains five per day on Norris Reservoir. The regulations will be re-evaluated in 2015.
