Concrete & Bridge Repairs Require Lane Closures on I-40 in Shelby County

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Two separate projects will require lane closures on Interstate 40 in Shelby County this weekend and next week. The closures are as follows:
 
Friday, February 4 at 8:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m. Monday, February 7 – I-40 East over Sam Cooper Boulevard (mile marker 14.3) will be reduced to one lane in order to remove the existing bridge surface.
 
Monday, February 7 at 8:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9 – I-40 West from Hollywood Drive (Exit #5) to Chelsea Avenue (Exit #2) will be reduced to one lane for concrete repairs.
 
*All work is weather dependent.
 
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and expect delays. Law enforcement officers will be on site in the work zone to provide traffic control as the work is being completed. TDOT also asks drivers to use caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones across the state.
