Indictments Returned as Result of Fatal Chickamauga Lake Boating Accident

NASHVILLE --- The Hamilton County Grand Jury has returned indictments from a June 2010 boating accident on Chickamauga Lake which resulted in a pair of fatalities.
 
Warren C. Luetke, 39, of Soddy Daisy was indicted on two counts of criminally negligent homicide, one count of negligent operation of a vessel, and one count of failure to render assistance in a boat accident involving serious injury or death. The indictments come from the June 19 boating crash involving the motor vessel “Bearcat” and a recreational fishing vessel.
 
Richard Wilkey, of Soddy-Daisy, and Timothy Spidle, of Elizabethton, died in the collision.
 
Luetke surrendered to Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officials at the Hamilton County Jail on Feb. 11, 2011 and was placed on a $5,000 bond. No trial date has been set.
