Interstate Construction Report for November 3 - 9, 2011

I-24
 
ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday November 3 through Wednesday November 9,  (excluding weekends), 9AM-12PM,  There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 in both directions in Robertson County to move equipment between mile marker 25 and mile marker 17.2 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway.  One lane will remain open.  This is between exit 24 (Springfield and Ashland City) and exit 19 (Adams).

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Sunday November 6 through Monday November 7, 6PM-1AM, The I-440 westbound on ramp from I-24 westbound will be reduced to one lane for paving.  One lane will remain open. 

MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving: The contractor continues work on the bridge.  Any interstate lane closures on I-24 will be at nighttime between 6PM-6AM.  Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed.  Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 

HAMILTON COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing beginning west of Chattanooga Creek (LM 6.18 / MM 177) to near Crest Rd. (LM 11.35 / MM 183), including bridge deck repair: The contractor has completed all contract items.  The  contractor may need either one lane or two lanes closed (only 10PM-5AM) to address punchlist items.  At least one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Estimated project completion date is November 2011.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, I-26 East and West near Mile Marker 6 (Welcome Center):  Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures, workers present and use caution in this area.

UNICOI COUNTY, I-26 East near Mile Marker 50:On Thursday, November 3, 2011 through Wednesday, November 9, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closure through this area between the hours of 6 a.m.. and 8 p.m. as crews perform concrete pavement repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday November 2 through Wednesday November 9, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

SHELBY COUNTY, ON-Call Concrete Pavement Repair, I-40:
  • Monday November 07 through Wednesday November 16, 8PM-6AM:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound (MM 2.6 to MM 5.0), for sawing of concrete pavement for repairs.  One lane will remain open.
  • LOOK AHEAD:  Friday November 11, 8PM through Monday November 14, 6AM:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound (MM 2.6 to MM 5.0), for removal and replacement of concrete pavement.  Two lanes will remain open.
  • LOOK AHEAD: Friday November 19, 8:00 p.m. through Monday 21, 6:00 a.m.:  There will be temporary lane closures eastbound and westbound (mile marker 2.6 to 5.2) for removal and replacement of concrete pavement. Two lanes will remain open.

TDOT Region 4 On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday November 2 through Wednesday November 9, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guardrail.
·         I-40 Shelby County southbound “Off” ramp (MM 1B.8), CLOSED.
·         I-40, Shelby County eastbound & westbound (MM 23.0 to MM 24.0), one lane to remain open.
·         I-40, Haywood/Fayette Counties eastbound & westbound (MM 35.0 to MM 49.0), one lane to remain open.

REGION 3 Striping Test:Tuesday November 8 and Wednesday November 9, 9AM-2PM, There will be short term rolling lane closures at the following locations to test striping:
§ I-40 Williamson County from MM 180 to MM 183
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Monday November 7 through Wednesday November 9, 8PM-1AM, The right lane and center lane will be closed on I-40 westbound at mile marker 196.9 for pothole repair.  The left lane will remain open. 

ROANE COUNTY, I-40 East near Mile Marker 353.3:On Thursday, November 3, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures through this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform cable barrier repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

LOUDON COUNTY, I-40 Westbound Ramp to I-75 South at Mile Marker 368: On Sunday night, November 6, 2011 and Monday night, November 7, 2011, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a lane closure in this area as crews mill and resurface the roadway.  Motorists approaching this area should be alert for slowed traffic and expect delays.

KNOX COUNTY, I-40 East and West near Mile Marker 386:On Sunday, November 6, 2011, motorists should be alert for a brief rolling roadblock approaching the Alcoa Highway (US 129) exit at approximately 9 a.m. as utility crews remove an overhead power line in this area. Motorists should be alert for slowed or stopped conditions approaching this area and use extreme caution.  Thru traffic may use I-640 during this time to avoid delays associated with this work.

KNOX COUNTY, I-40 West at I-640 near Mile Marker 393:On Monday night, November 7, 2011, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a lane closure in this area as crews perform roadway maintenance repairs.  Motorists approaching this area should be alert for slowed traffic and expect delays.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, I-40 West between Mile Markers 417 and 420:On Sunday, November 6, 2011, between the hours of 4 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for lane closures in this area as crews perform roadway maintenance repairs.  Motorists approaching this area should be alert for slowed traffic and expect potential delays.

KNOX COUNTY, I-140 East near Northshore Drive (Exit 5):Motorists should be alert for shoulder closures in this area. Motorists should use caution through this area.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-440 Eastbound from I-65 to I-24:Thursday November 3 through November 9: No closures scheduled.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Sunday November 6 through Monday November 7, 6PM-1AM, The I-440 westbound on ramp from I-24 westbound will be reduced to one lane for paving.  One lane will remain open.

REGION 4, TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday November 2 through Wednesday November 9, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

SHELBY COUNTY, Safety Improvement on the Ramps to I-55 at junction of Crump Boulevard
  • Wednesday November 2 through Wednesday November 9, 9:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. :  There will be rolling lane closures on I-55 and Crump Boulevard to remove barrier rail, and to install and replace signs throughout the limits of the project.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue:  I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction.  Currently there is access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. The NEW northbound lanes at I-55 are open to traffic.
  • Wednesday November 2 through Wednesday November 9, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures southbound at mile marker 8 to mile marker 9 in order to perform work on Interstate bridge 1.  One southbound lane will remain open.  Exit 9 (southbound, Mallory Exit will remain closed with traffic being detoured to Exit 8 (Horn Lake Exit).

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 from SR 248 (Goose Creek) to SR 96:Thursday November 3 through Wednesday November 9, 8PM-5AM, There will be temporary lane closures on I-65 North and South from SR 96 to MM 62.5 in order to pave.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday November 3 through Wednesday November 9, 8PM-3AM, (excluding weekends), The right lane will be closed on I-65 at Rosa Parks Blvd. for vegetation and rock removal.  One lane will remain open. 

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance: Thursday November 3 through Wednesday November 9, (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-65 in both directions in Robertson County between mile marker 104 and mile marker 119 to mill, pave, and stripe the roadway in various locations.  One lane will remain open.


FUTURE I-69
 
OBION COUNTY-Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR 5/SR 22 to 0.78 mile west of SR 21:
  • Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City is now open.
  • NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location.  A detour route is posted.  There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.

 
I-75
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, I-75 design-build project from Enterprise South interchange (Exit 9) to SR-317 (Apison Pike) at Old Lee Hwy.: The contractor is constructing the new bridge to connect the interchange at Exit 9 to SR-317 at Old Lee Hwy.  Estimated completion date is January 2012. 
 
KNOX COUNTY, I-75 South near Emory Road at Mile Marker 112:On Monday night, November 7, 2011, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a lane closure in this area as crews perform roadway maintenance repairs.  Motorists approaching this area should be alert for slowed traffic and expect delays.

ANDERSON COUNTY, I-75 South near Mile Marker 118.6:On Thursday, November 3, 2011, motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures through this area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews perform cable barrier repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.
