Concrete Repairs Require Weekend Lane Closures on I-40 in Shelby County
 
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation crews will close lanes on Interstate 40 West in Memphis this weekend to perform concrete repairs. I-40 West from Hollywood Drive (Exit #5) to Chelsea Avenue (Exit #2) will be reduced to one lane beginning at 8:00 p.m. tonight through 6:00 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2011. The closures are necessary in order to remove and replace deteriorated concrete.
 
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and avoid the area if at all possible. Law enforcement officers will be on site in the work zone to provide traffic control as the work is being completed. TDOT also asks drivers to use caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones across the state.
