Board of Probation and Parole

Nashville, Tennessee --- Officers from the Board of Probation and Parole (BOPP) are taking part in an education event focused on enhanced public safety. On Tuesday, September 14, the American Probation and Parole Association will be in Nashville to teach Probation and Parole Officers the newest strategies for supervising domestic violence offenders to increase victim safety, offender accountability and offender change. 

 

BOPP Victim Services Director Jennifer Brinkman will be available briefly to discuss why a coordinated response to domestic violence is so important to community safety. The availability takes place as follows:

The Board of Probation and Parole ( www.tn.gov/bopp/ ) is an independent, seven-member board whose members are appointed by the Governor. The Board is charged with the responsibility of deciding which eligible felony offenders will be granted parole and released from incarceration to community-based supervision. Along with the supervision of those granted parole, the Board is also responsible for supervising felony offenders who are placed on probation by criminal courts.
