Temporary Slip Ramp on Hilltop Drive Now Closed

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Drivers in the Ooltewah area now have another way to access I-75 South at the Ooltewah interchange. TDOT opened a new loop ramp to traffic this morning, giving those traveling on west Lee Highway (US-11)  their own free-flowing ramp to access I-75 South. Traffic coming from
Hunter and Mountain View Roads will continue to use the current on-ramp, but there will no longer be a conflict with traffic accessing the interstate from the other direction.

Also, as the I-75 widening/Ooltewah interchange improvement project nears completion, the temporary ramp accessing I-75 South from Hilltop Drive has been closed to traffic. The Federal Highway Administration allowed TDOT to open this ramp during construction to alleviate congestion in the area of the interchange. Now that the interchange is fully open, the new loop ramp should allow for improved traffic flow in the area, reducing the need for the temporary ramp.
