NASHVILLE - The 22nd Annual Tennessee Beef Agribition will be held in Murfreesboro, March 12-14 at Middle Tennessee State University’s Tennessee Livestock Center. The three-day cattle show and sale event also features one of the largest trade shows in the Southeast, giving participants a look at new products and the direction of the industry.

Nine different chartered breeds will be represented at the event. The breed shows begin Friday at 11:30 a.m. with sales for each breed immediately following that breed’s show. Saturday shows and sales begin at 8 a.m. A limited number of cow and calf pairs will be available for sale Pairs will be available for viewing at the center before being sold. The junior show, one of the event’s most popular features, will take place Sunday.

“In addition to serving as the state’s largest beef show and sale, Tennessee Beef Agribition traditionally is the place for cattle producers to find out the latest in information and technology for their industry,” says Tennessee Department of Agriculture Livestock Marketing Specialist Wendy Lofton. “This includes hearing about the latest opportunities to receive cost share funds for needed equipment through the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program.”

Agribition offers producers opportunities, including purchasing cows and heifers, high quality bulls, purebred breeding stock and even donor embryos during a peak breeding season.

The added benefit of watching breeds being shown and judged just before sale is something few buyers ever experience except during Agribition.

“4-H students will also have the chance to find the show animals they want for the year’s fair season, during Agribition,” said Lofton.
