Weekly Construction Report for Tri-Cities and Northeast Tennessee, March 4 - 10

Sullivan County, SIA Serving Bristol Metals LLC (Off Weaver Pike, SR 358, at the existing Bristol Metals Road): The contractor has begun this project. Motorists are asked to use caution as construction equipment will be entering and exiting the area.
 
Carter County, SR 400 from East Mill Street to SR 67 (Broad Street): The project will experience intermittent lane closures and traffic congestion on Lynn Ave (SR 400) from 6 am to 6 pm from Mill Street to Elk Ave. Also, intermittent lane closures on Broad Street at the intersection of Lynn Ave. and Broad Street from 6:00 pm till 7:00 am. Motorists should be alert for men and equipment on or near the roadway.
 
Ongoing Projects: 
 
Washington County, Flourville Road bridges over Boones Creek (Bridge and Box Replacement): The contractor has closed Flourville Road between the turn off from Pickens Bridge Road and Cabindale Road. This project has an estimated completion date of June 30, 2010 and the closure is expected to last the entire length of the project. A detour has been established using Pickens Bridge Road back to Flourville Road. Motorists are asked to use caution in the area as workers will be present. 
 
Sullivan County, SR 75 between Washington County Line and Herron Drive (Bridge Replacement): The contractor is working either end of the bridge preparing to set deck panels. Motorists are asked to use caution and watch for equipment and workers at or near the roadway.
 
Sullivan County, SR 126 between West Central Street and Plainview Drive (Small Drainage Structure): Traffic has been shifted to the temporary run-around. Motorists are asked to use caution in this area as workers begin the work of replacing the existing drainage structure. Construction equipment will be entering and exiting the area.
 
Sullivan County, SR 126 between SR 75 and Franklin Drive (Small Drainage Structures): Traffic has been shifted to the temporary run-around. Motorists are asked to use caution in this area as workers begin the work of replacing the existing drainage structure. Motorists need to be alert to equipment entering and exiting the area.
 
Carter County, SR 400 (Lynn Avenue) over Watauga River (Bridge Replacement): Intermittent lane closures will be implemented in both lanes throughout the project. Motorists should be aware of construction equipment on and near the highway and workers near the roadway.
 
Carter County, SR 67 between SR 159 (US 321) and Johnson County Line (Bridge Repair): The contractor has begun work on this project. The project will require one lane to be closed to traffic throughout the project duration, with a temporary traffic signal to conduct traffic flow. Due to LANE WIDTH restrictions, any vehicle wider than 11 feet will need to find an alternate route to reach their destination. Motorists should expect traffic delays due to the lane closure and allow extra time for travel. 
 
Washington County, Bob Davis Road and Sid Martin Road (Bridge Replacement):  The contractor has closed both Sid Martin Road and Bob Davis Road for the construction of a new bridge on Bob Davis Road. These roads will be closed for the duration of this project which has an estimated completion date of April 30, 2010. Motorists are asked to use caution in this area and to follow the Detour Signs that have been placed.
