Marshall County Health Department Receives $56,000 in Federal WIC Funds
NASHVILLE − Tennessee Department of Health Assistant Commissioner Cathy Taylor, DrPH, MSN, RN, will join other state and local officials on Wednesday, November 10, to present $56,000 in federal funding from the United States Department of Agriculture for the Women, Infants and Children Special Supplemental Nutrition Program to the Marshall County Health Department.
The funding will be used for renovations at the Marshall County Health Department clinic in Lewisburg to improve services to WIC clients. The Marshall County WIC clinic has served more than 2,100 patients over the past year, resulting in nearly $491,000 in vouchers redeemed in the county. In addition to improving delivery of WIC services, the renovations will allow better access to a variety of health department services by WIC clients.
