REGION 3 On-Call Guardrail:Thursday September 3 through Wednesday September 9, 8PM-6AM, (each night), (excluding holiday weekend), There will be one lane closures at various locations on interstate routes in Davidson County for guardrail repair and installation.
 
CHEATHAM and ROBERTSON COUNTIES, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday September 3, 8AM-4PM, Friday September 4, 8AM-12 noon and Tuesday September 8 through Wednesday September 9, 8AM-4PM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 eastbound and westbound in Cheatham and Robertson Counties between mile marker 23 and mile marker 28 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway.  One lane will remain open. (Weather permitting)
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:
       Thursday September 3, 9AM-3PM, Friday September 4, 9AM-12 noon and Tuesday September 8 through Wednesday September 9, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Davidson County in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.
       Thursday September 3, 9AM-3PM, Friday September 4, 9AM-12 noon and Tuesday September 8 through Wednesday September 9, 9AM-3PM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for vegetation control. This will affect the shoulders or outside lanes.

DAVIDSON and WILLIAMSON COUNTIES, ITS Phase III:
       Thursday September 3, Tuesday September 8 through Wednesday September 9, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-6AM. There will be periodic day and night time shoulder closures at various locations within the areas listed below in order to install devices, perform electrical work, and pole installation.
o    I-24, both directions between Old Hickory Blvd and Bell Road (MM 40 to MM 61)
 
THOMAS & ASSOCIATES: Thursday September 3 and Tuesday September 8 through Wednesday September 9, each day, 2PM, There will be rolling roadblocks on I-24 eastbound and westbound near Waldron Rd. (Exit 64) for blasting. Local police officers will be utilized for this operation.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday, September 3, 7PM-5AM, The SR-96 eastbound on ramp to I-24 eastbound will be reduced to one lane for paving. One lane will remain open.
 
COFFEE COUNTY, I-24 cable guardrail project from MM 103 to MM 105: On September 8 - 10, the contractor will have lane closures on I-24 East to install cable guardrail between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Estimated project completion date is October 2009.
 
COFFEE COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing project beginning at SR-55 (LM 14.72/MM111) and extending to the Arnold Engineering Development Center (LM 20.78/MM117): (Recovery Act Project) The contractor will have lane closures from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning to perform resurfacing activity. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Estimated completion date is September 2009.
 
MARION, HAMILTON, and BRADLEY COUNTIES, I-75 / I-24 construction of an intelligent transportation system on various interstate routes in and near Chattanooga: The contractor will implement shoulder closures throughout this report period within the project area on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and anytime on the weekend as part of the ITS construction. There are no lane closures scheduled for this time period. Estimated completion date is December 2010.
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, I-75 / I-24 sign installation project at various locations in the vicinity of the 1-24 / I-75 Split, including paving: This project is complete and awaiting the punchlistEstimated completion date is September 2009.
 
 
I-124
 
HAMILTON COUNTY, US-27 (I-124) repair of 15 bridges from I-24 (MM 0) to the Olgiati Bridge (MM 2.0):  The northbound lanes are all open to traffic. Throughout this report period the contractor will have nightly lane closures on US-27 South from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following morning for bridge deck repairs. One lane will be maintained at all times during this nightly work. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained on US-27 South daily from 6:00 AM until 7:00 PM. The entrance ramp from west MLK Blvd. onto US-27 (I-124) South is expected to reopen to traffic during this report period. Estimated completion date is September 2009.

SHELBY COUNTY, Seismic Retrofit on the bridge on I-40 over the Mississippi River
       Thursday, September 3 eastboundfrom 9AM-3PM. The contractor will have lane closures in order to install construction signs. One lane will be maintained at all times.
       Beginning 9AM-7PM, Tuesday, September 8. There will be one lane closed in each direction (two lanes open).
       Tuesday, September 8 7PM-6AM. There will be two lanes closed Eastbound (one lane open),one lane closed Westbound (two lanes open).
       Wednesday, September 9 6AM-7PM. There will be one lane closed each direction (two lanes open).
       Wednesday, September 9 7PM-6AM. There will be one lane closed Eastbound (two lanes open), two lanes closed Westbound (one lane open). 
       Thursday, September 10 6AM-7PM.  There will be one lane closed each direction ( two lanes open).
       Thursday, September 10 7PM-6AM.  The traffic will be shifted into its final position for this closure with two lanes open both westbound and eastbound.  These closures will continue over the next few months, for bridge repair.

       Tuesday September 8 and Wednesday September 9, double left lane closures, 3 lanes remain open, for installation of portable barrier rail.
    • I-40, both directions, between the I-24 Interchange and Old Hickory Blvd (MM 213 to MM 222), 3 lanes remain open (multiple locations for foundation installation).
    • I-40, Westbound, between Memphis Bristol (US70) and east of Charlotte Pike (MM 196 to MM 203), 2 lanes remain open. (multiple locations for foundation installation).
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, Resurfacing on I-40 from US 70S to Charlotte Pike:(Recovery Act Project) Thursday September 3, Tuesday September 8 and Wednesday September 9, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-40 in order to install guardrail.
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-40 and Robertson Road Interchange:(Recovery Act Project)
       Thursday September 3, 10AM-10:15 AM and (also) 1PM-1:15PM and Friday September 4 (10AM-10:15 only) and Tuesday September 8 through Wednesday September 9, 10AM-10:15 AM and (also) 1PM-1:15PM, Rolling roadblock for I-40 East bound and Westbound traffic for blasting operations on the south side of I-40 in the White Bridge Road area.  
       Tuesday September 8 through Friday September 11; 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, Piedmont Natural Gas will close the outside lane of White Bridge Road southbound to work on existing 6” gas line crossing White Bridge and tie over to new line. 
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, Resurfacing on I-40 from Charlotte Pike to Westboro Dr:(Recovery Act Project) Thursday September 3, Tuesday September 8 and Wednesday September 9, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-40 in order to mill and pave the roadway.
 
PUTNAM COUNTY, I-40 resurfacing project from MM 267.25 to MM 274: (Recovery Act Project) The contractor will have lane closures to install guardrail, markers and striping between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Estimated project completion date is September 2009.
 
PUTNAM COUNTY, I-40 cable guardrail project from MM 273 to MM 276: On September 8 - 10, the contractor will have lane closures on I-24 East to install cable guardrail between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Estimated project completion date is October 2009.
 
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, I-40 resurfacing from MM 306 to MM 311 (Plateau Road): Work on this project has resumed. The contractor will have nighttime lane closures from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following morning for cold planning and resurfacing activities. Estimated completion date is October 2009.
 
JEFFERSON COUNTY, I-40 East between Mile Marker 422.5 and Exit 424 (Dandridge/White Pine): On Tuesday night, September 8, 2009, through Thursday night, September 10, 2009,, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure through this area as crews install longitudinal cable barrier. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

One lane will remain open in each direction. Also, there will be alternating ramp closures to remove striping.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55: resurfacing at Mississippi State Line to Nonconnah Creek.
       Thursday September 3 and Friday, September 4 northboundfrom 7PM-6AM. The contractor will have lane closures in order to perform paving operations. One lane will be maintained at all times.
       Tuesday September 8 through Wednesday September 9 northboundfrom 7PM-6AM. The contractor will have lane closures in order to perform paving operations. One lane will be maintained at all times.
 
SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: Widening of exist bridges, 3 lanes reduced to 2 each direction. Southbound will be shifted to the newly widening roadway. Traffic switched to new roadway. There will no longer be access to Mallory (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. Use Third St (Exit 7) detour to Mallory. Riverside Drive from Mallory Avenue to Devant Street is closed indefinitely. This existing section of roadway will be new location of the northbound I-55 entrance ramp. Use the newly constructed Riverport Road extension as an alternate route.
       Thursday, September 3 northbound from 9AM-3PM, The contractor will haveintermittent lane closures to drive sheet piling along the interstate at Bridge 1 (MM 9). The contractor will be excavating the bridge abutments this week and needs to drive the sheet piling to safe up the interstate. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times.
       Friday, September 4 northbound from 9AM-Noon. The contractor will haveintermittent lane closures to drive sheet piling along the interstate at Bridge 1 (MM 9). The contractor will be excavating the bridge abutments this week and needs to drive the sheet piling to safe up the interstate. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times.

HAMILTON COUNTY, I-75 widening project from 1.1 miles south of Lee Highway (SR-2, US-11) to 1.2 miles north of Lee Highway (SR-2, SR-11): Each night throughout this report period, the contractor will have lane closures on I-75 Northbound and Southbound between MM 10 – MM 12 from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following morning to set new barrier rail, realign existing barrier rail to accommodate paving and demolition operations. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times.
       The contractor will have lane closures on Hill Top Road, Hunter Road, Snow Hill Road, Mountain View Road, Lee Highway, and Old Lee Highway from 8:30 AM until 7:00 PM to construct new roadway and accommodate bridge demolition and gas line construction. However, the contractor must move off the roadway from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM each day during the shift change at Miller Industries. One lane will remain open at all times.
       The temporary slip ramp to I-75 South is now open at Hilltop Drive. Drivers needing to access I-75 South from the Hunter Road area can now do so by using the newly opened ramp at hilltop Drive, avoiding the Ooltewah interchange altogether. The slip ramp has its own dedicated lane onto the interstate so drivers accessing I-75 South via ramp are not required to merge when entering the interstate. The temporary ramp will be in place for the remainder of the project.
       The bridge on Old Lee highway is now open to traffic. Later in the year the contractor will place a final layer of asphalt on the roadway. The truck station located at the end of the project on I-75 South is now closed and will remain closed for the duration of the project.
       The contractor is anticipating a shift of I-75 southbound traffic from its present track onto the new southbound lanes during the 1st week in September.
Estimated completion date is December 2010.
 
BRADLEY COUNTY, I-75 resurfacing from east of SR-60 (LM 9.75/MM 25) to 4 miles south of the McMinn County Line (LM 15.35/MM 31): (Recovery Act Project) The contractor will have nightly lane closures from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning to perform resurfacing activity. The only restrictions are for holidays and sporting events, and no closures will exceed three miles. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Estimated completion date is September 2009.
 
KNOX COUNTY, I-75 North and South between I-640 and Callahan Drive (Exit 110):(Recovery Act Project) On Thursday night, September 3, 2009 and Tuesday night, September 8, 2009 through Thursday night, September 10, 2009 motorists should be alert for lane closures on I-75 between I-640 and Callahan Drive between the hours of 8 p.m. (Southbound) 9 p.m. (Northbound) and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews mill and resurface the roadway. Motorists should be alert potential long delays and use extreme caution through this area.
 
ANDERSON COUNTY, I-75 North between Mile Marker 121 and Mile Maker 122: On Tuesday night, September 8, 2009, through Thursday night, September 10, 2009, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a lane closure on I-75 North through this area as crews install longitudinal cable barrier. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.
 
CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North between Mile Markers 142 and 145: On Tuesday night, September 8, 2009, through Thursday night, September 10, 2009, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a lane closure on I-75 North through this area as crews install longitudinal cable barrier. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 South between Mile Markers 144 and 147:On Tuesday night, September 8, 2009, through Thursday night, September 10, 2009, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a lane closure on I-75 North through this area as crews install longitudinal cable barrier. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

KNOX COUNTY, I-275 North between Woodland and Heiskell Avenue:On Tuesday, September 8, 2009 and Wednesday, September 9, 2009 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., motorists should be alert for a right lane closure as crews perform concrete wall repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution through this area.
 
 
I-81
 
GREENE COUNTY, I-81 North and South between Mile Marker 23 (SR 34/US 11E) and Mile Marker 25:Motorists should be alert for lane closures through this area around the clock as crews perform bridge repairs. Motorists should expect potential long delays and use caution through this area.
 
Sullivan County, I-81 between South of Exit 63 and North of Exit 69 (Resurfacing):  The contractor has begun this resurfacing project.  This work will cause temporary lane closures at night between 7:00 pm and 6:00 am Sunday through Friday.  Motorists are asked to use caution in this area.
 
 
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
