Heritage Farms Dairy Receives Governor's Safety Award

Safety Record Dates Back to 2007
NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley announced that Heritage Farms Dairy in Murfreesboro was chosen to receive the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety.
"Heritage Farms Dairy has demonstrated strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace," said Jim Flanagan, Voluntary Protection Program Manager for the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration, who presented the Governor’s Award of Excellence to the company today at the company’s facility located at 1100 New Salem Highway in Murfreesboro. “The evaluation criteria for this award are challenging, and this company has worked extremely hard to meet and exceed the standards the award requires.”
The Governor’s Safety Award honors Tennessee employers and employees who meet a required number of hours without workplace injuries serious enough to cause an employee to miss a day of work or restrict normal job activities. The number of hours required is based on the size of the company.
Heritage Farms Dairy manufactures dairy products for the Kroger Corporation. The facility employs 191 people and has qualified for the Governor’s award by working over 500,000 hours without a lost time or restricted duty workplace injury or illness. Their accident free record dates back to July of 2007.
