REGION 3 On-Call Guardrail:Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2, 8PM-6AM, (each night), There will be one lane closures at various locations on interstates in Davidson, Rutherford, Maury, Hickman, Humphreys, Dickson, and Marshall Counties for guardrail repair and installation.  

 
CHEATHAM and ROBERTSON COUNTIES, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2, 8AM-4PM, There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 eastbound and westbound in Cheatham and Robertson Counties between mile marker 24 and mile marker 32 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway.  One lane will remain open. (Weather permitting)

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:

       Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Davidson County in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.
       Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2, 9AM-3PM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for vegetation control. This will affect the shoulders or outside lanes.
       Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2, 7PM-5AM, There will be various lane closures on I-65/1-24 both directions between Dickerson Road and Trinity Lane to repair areas of the roadway.

  DAVIDSON COUNTY, ITS Phase III:

       Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-6AM. There will be periodic day and night time shoulder closures at various locations within the areas listed below in order to install devices, perform electrical work, and pole installation.
o    I-24, both directions between Old Hickory Blvd and Bell Road (MM 40 to MM 61)
 

REGION 3, Relensing of Snowplowable Markers on Interstate Routes:Thursday August 27, Sunday August 30 through Wednesday September 2, 8PM-6AM, There will be mobile lane closures in Davidson and Rutherford Counties on I-24 (MM 40-64) in order to replace snowplowable markers. One to two lanes will remain open at all times.   THOMAS & ASSOCIATES: Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2, each day, 2PM, There will be rolling roadblocks on I-24 eastbound and westbound near Waldron Rd. (Exit 64) for blasting. Local police officers will be utilized for this operation.

 

COFFEE COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing project beginning at SR-55 and extending to the Arnold Engineering Development Center (LM 20.78): (Recovery Act Project) The contractor will have lane closures from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning to perform resurfacing activity. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Estimated completion date is September 2009.  

MARION and HAMILTON COUNTIES, I-24 construction of an intelligent transportation system on various interstate and state routes in and near Chattanooga: The contractor will implement shoulder closures throughout this report period within the project area on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and anytime on the weekend as part of the ITS construction. They will also implement nighttime lane closures between the hours of 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM the following morning to perform installation of structure conduit raceways and DMS foundations at these locations:

       Thursday, August 27 and Friday, August 28 between the hours of 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM the following morning:
o    I-24 EB & WB at MM 183.5 – Double Left lane closure. One lane is to remain open.
Estimated completion date is December 2010.  

HAMILTON COUNTY, I-75 / I-24 sign installation project at various locations in the vicinity of the 1-24 / I-75 Split, including paving: 

       Thursday, August 27 through Saturday August 29 from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM each day there will be a right lane closure on I-75 North just south of Scruggs Road in Georgia near Tennessee State Line in order to drill and pour overhead sign footing. Two lanes will remain open. 
       Saturday August 29 from 9:00 PM until Sunday August 30 at 6:00 AM there will be two left lane closures on I-75 South just south of Scruggs Road in Georgia near Tennessee State Line in order to erect overhead sign structure. One lane will remain open with the exception of a 15 minute pacing of traffic, which will occur after 2:00 AM.
       Saturday August 29 from 9:00 PM until Sunday August 30 at 6:00 AM there will be an alternating one lane closure on I-75 North just south of Scruggs Road in Georgia near Tennessee State Line in order to erect overhead sign structure. Two lanes will remain open with the exception of a 15 minute pacing of traffic, which will occur after 2:00 AM.  Estimated completion date is August 2009.
 
 

I-124

 
HAMILTON COUNTY, US-27 (I-124) repair of 15 bridges from I-24 (MM 0) to the Olgiati Bridge (MM 2.0):  The northbound lanes are all open to traffic. Throughout this report period the contractor will have nightly lane closures on US-27 South from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following morning for bridge deck repairs. One lane will be maintained at all times during this nightly work. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained on US-27 South daily from 6:00 AM until 7:00 PM. The entrance ramp from west MLK Blvd. onto US-27 (I-124) South is expected to reopen to traffic during this report period. Estimated completion date is September 2009.

SHELBY COUNTY, Seismic Retrofit on the bridge on I-40 over the Mississippi River:Thursday, September 3 eastboundfrom 9AM-3PM. The contractor will have lane closures in order to install construction signs. One lane will be maintained at all times.
 
SHELBY COUNTY, REGION 4, On-Call Guardrail Repair:
    Tuesday September 1 through Wednesday, September 02, 8PM-2AM, nightly: I-40 Westbound near Exit 3/Watkins, two lanes closed, two lanes open, at separate times.
    Wednesday September 2, 2AM-6AM, nightly: I-40 Eastbound near Exit 3/Watkins, two lanes closed, two lanes open, at separate times.

       Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2, 8PM-5AM, There will be periodic short term night time lane closures at the following locations to install device foundations, DMS foundation installation, and shoulder paving.
    • I-40, both directions, between the I-24 Interchange and Old Hickory Blvd (MM 213 to MM 222), 3 lanes remain open (multiple locations for foundation installation).
    • I-40, Westbound, between Memphis Bristol (US70) and east of Charlotte Pike (MM 196 to MM 203), 2 lanes remain open. (multiple locations for foundation installation)

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-40 and Robertson Road Interchange:(Recovery Act Project) Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2, 10AM-10:15 AM and (also) 1PM-1:15PM, Rolling roadblock for I-40 East bound and Westbound traffic for blasting operations on the south side of I-40 in the White Bridge Road area.   

REGION 3, Relensing of Snowplowable Markers on Interstate Routes:Thursday August 27, Sunday August 30 through Wednesday September 2, 8PM-6AM, There will be mobile lane closures in Davidson County on I-40 (MM 204-223) in order to replace snowplowable markers. One to two lanes will remain open at all times.   WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance-Special Event:Friday August 28 and Saturday August 29, 7PM-1AM, I-40 westbound at EXIT 239: SR-26 / US-70 / LEBANON-WATERTOWN will have one lane closed. One lane will remain open. (Wilson County Fair)  

SMITH COUNTY, Resurfacing on I-40 from SR 53 to the Putnam Co. line(Recovery Act Project)
       Thursday August 27, 7PM-6AM, One lane of I-40 Westbound will be closed for traffic counter loop installation work near mile marker 267. One lane will remain open.
       Friday August 28, 7PM through Monday August 31,6AM, One lane in each direction of I-40 will be closed for bridge deck repair work near mile marker 261 Eastbound and mile marker 263 Eastbound and Westbound. One lane in each direction will remain open.

PUTNAM COUNTY, I-40 resurfacing project from MM 267.25 to MM 274: (Recovery Act Project) The contractor will have lane closures for paving activity between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Estimated project completion date is September 2009.   

PUTNAM COUNTY, I-40 cable guardrail project from MM 275 to MM 278: The contractor will have lane closures to install cable guardrail between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Estimated project completion date is October 2009.
 
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, I-40 resurfacing from MM 306 to MM 311 (Plateau Road): Work on this project has resumed. The contractor will have nighttime lane closures from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following morning for cold planning and resurfacing activities. Estimated completion date is October 2009.
 

JEFFERSON COUNTY, I-40 East between Mile Marker 422.5 and Exit 424 (Dandridge/White Pine): On Monday night, August 31, 2009 through Thursday night, September 3, 2009, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a lane closure through this area as crews install longitudinal cable barrier. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

       Friday August 28, 8PM through Monday August 31, 6AM, I-440 eastbound will be closed from I-40 to I-65 for concrete pavement rehabilitation.
       Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2, 8PM - 6AM, each night, There will be alternating lane closures on I-440 in both directions in order to remove permanent striping and repaint lines. One lane will remain open in each direction.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55:resurfacing at Mississippi State Line to Nonconnah Creek. Sunday, August 30 through Wednesday, September 2 northboundfrom 7PM-6AM. The contractor will have lane closures in order to perform paving operations. One lane will be maintained at all times.


SHELBY COUNTY, REGION 4, On-Call Guardrail Repair:
       Monday August 31, 8PM-10PM, nightly: I-55 Northbound near Shelby Drive, one lane closed, three lanes open.
       Monday August 31, 10PM-12AM, nightly: I-55 Northbound “On” ramp from the Welcome Center, CLOSED.
       Tuesday September 1, 12AM-2AM, nightly: I-55 Northbound betweenthe Welcome Center and Millbranch Bridge, one lane closed, three lanes open.
 

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: Widening of exist bridges, 3 lanes reduced to 2 each direction. Southbound will be shifted to the newly widening roadway. Traffic switched to new roadway. There will no longer be access to Mallory (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. Use Third St (Exit 7) detour to Mallory. Riverside Drive from Mallory Avenue to Devant Street is closed indefinitely. This existing section of roadway will be new location of the northbound I-55 entrance ramp. Use the newly constructed Riverport Road extension as an alternate route.

       Thursday August 27 through Wednesday September 2 northbound from 9AM-3PM. The contractor will haveintermittent lane closures to drive sheet piling along the interstate at Bridge 1 (MM 9). The contractor will be excavating the bridge abutments this week and needs to drive the sheet piling to safe up the interstate. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times.
 

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 ITS cable/radar/electrical installation:Thursday August 27 and Friday August 28 southbound and northbound from 9AM-3PM. The contractor will have lane closures in order to perform preventative maintenance on ITS devices mounted on the bridge on I-55. One lane will be maintained at all times.

       Monday, August 31 through Wednesday, September 2 between the hours of 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM the following morning:
o    I-75 NB & SB at MM 2.0 – Left lane closure. Three lanes are to remain open.
o    I-75 NB at MM 11.0 – Right lane closure. One lane is to remain open (this is within the Ooltewah construction site).
Estimated completion date is December 2010.
 

HAMILTON COUNTY, I-75 widening project from 1.1 miles south of Lee Highway (SR-2, US-11) to 1.2 miles north of Lee Highway (SR-2, SR-11): Each night throughout this report period, the contractor will have lane closures on I-75 Northbound and Southbound between MM 10 – MM 12 from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM the following morning to set new barrier rail, realign existing barrier rail to accommodate paving and demolition operations. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times.

       The contractor will have lane closures on Hill Top Road, Hunter Road, Snow Hill Road, Mountain View Road, Lee Highway, and Old Lee Highway from 8:30 AM until 7:00 PM to construct new roadway and accommodate bridge demolition and gas line construction. However, the contractor must move off the roadway from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM each day during the shift change at Miller Industries. One lane will remain open at all times.
       The temporary slip ramp to I-75 South is now open at Hilltop Drive. Drivers needing to access I-75 South from the Hunter Road area can now do so by using the newly opened ramp at hilltop Drive, avoiding the Ooltewah interchange altogether. The slip ramp has its own dedicated lane onto the interstate so drivers accessing I-75 South via ramp are not required to merge when entering the interstate. The temporary ramp will be in place for the remainder of the project.
       The bridge on Old Lee highway is now open to traffic. Later in the year the contractor will place a final layer of asphalt on the roadway. The truck station located at the end of the project on I-75 South is now closed and will remain closed for the duration of the project.
       The contractor is anticipating a shift of I-75 southbound traffic from its present track onto the new southbound lanes during the 1st week in September.
Estimated completion date is December 2010.
 
BRADLEY COUNTY, I-75 resurfacing from east of SR-60 (LM 9.75) to 4 miles south of the McMinn County Line (LM 15.35): (Recovery Act Project) The contractor will have nightly lane closures from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning to perform resurfacing activity. The only restrictions are for holidays and sporting events, and no closures will exceed three miles. Work will take place between MM 25 and MM 31, northbound and southbound. One lane will be maintained in both directions at all times. Estimated completion date is September 2009.
 
KNOX COUNTY, I-75 North and South between I-640 and Callahan Drive (Exit 110):(Recovery Act Project) On Sunday nights through Thursday nights, motorists should be alert for lane closures on I-75 between I-640 and Callahan Drive between the hours of 8 p.m. (Southbound) 9 p.m. (Northbound) and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews mill and resurface the roadway. Motorists should be alert potential long delays and use extreme caution through this area. 
 

KNOX COUNTY, I-75 South over Emory Road (Exit 112): On Tuesday night, September 1, 2009, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., motorists should be alert for a lane closure through this area as crews perform bridge repairs. Motorists should use caution when traveling through this area.  

ANDERSON COUNTY, I-75 North between Mile Marker 121 and Mile Maker 122: On Monday night, August 31, 2009, through Thursday night, September 3, 2009, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a lane closure on I-75 North through this area as crews install longitudinal cable barrier. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.  

CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North between Mile Markers 142 and 145: On Monday night, August 31, 2009, through Thursday night, September 3, 2009, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a lane closure on I-75 North through this area as crews install longitudinal cable barrier. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.  

CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 South between Mile Markers 144 and 147:On Monday night, August 31, 2009, through Thursday night, September 3, 2009, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, motorists should be alert for a lane closure on I-75 North through this area as crews install longitudinal cable barrier. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

GREENE COUNTY, I-81 North and South between Mile Marker 23 (SR 34/US 11E) and Mile Marker 25:Motorists should be alert for lane closures through this area around the clock as crews perform bridge repairs. Motorists should expect potential long delays and use caution through this area.  

Sullivan County, I-81 between South of Exit 63 and North of Exit 69 (Resurfacing): The contractor is placing construction signs next week during the day. Milling operations are expected to begin Sunday August 30, 2009 around 7:00 pm. This work will cause temporary lane closures at night between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am Sunday through Friday. Motorists are asked to use caution in this area.  

 

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
