Two Statewide Appointees Now Serving as TWRC Members

NASHVILLE --- Dr. Jeff McMillin (Bristol) and Eric Wright (Elizabethton) have received appointments as statewide commissioners to serve as members of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission (TWRC).
 
The two new commissioners are part of the 13-member governing body of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). The two statewide postions are appointed by the speaker of the house and the speaker of the senate, respectively.
 
Appointed to serve a six-year term (2009-15), McMillin has practiced dentistry in Bristol since 1981. McMillin is a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, Quality Deer Management Association, National Rifle Association and National Wild Turkey Federation.
 
McMillin has lived his entire life in Tennessee and his hobbies include hunting ducks, turkey and big game, saltwater, river and stream fishing. He also enjoys planting food plots and improving wildlife habitat on his hunting property in East Tennessee. He also serves as a TSSAA high school football official and has performed medical mission work.
 
A graduate of the University of Tennessee and the University of Tennessee Dental School. McMillin and his wife, Debbie have two adult children, son, Bart, daughter, Sara, and a son-in-law, Rett Scottstill.
 
Named to a four-year term, Wright is a life-long resident of Carter County. He works in purchasing with Mapes Piano String Company. He enjoys coon, squirrel and turkey hunting among his hobbies.
 
Wright is also interested in wildlife conservation and small game management. Mr. Wright is a member of the Carter County Hunting and Fishing Club, the Stoney Creek Coon Club and the Doe Valley Sportsman’s Club. He is a graduate of Unaka High School. Wright and his wife, Leisa, are the parents of two sons, Jeremy and Jonathan.
