Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Field Day Scheduled June 20 in Knoxville

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will host a Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) Field Day on Saturday, June 20 in Knoxville at the John Sevier Hunter Education Facility.

The relaxed atmosphere of the BOW Field Day is primarily aimed at women, but is an opportunity for anyone 18 or older to learn outdoor skills usually associated with hunting and fishing, however it is useful for many outdoor pursuits. Workshop participants will have a chance to take two classes during the event.
 
This year’s BOW Field Day offers classes in basic archery, introduction to firearms, introduction to pistol shooting, Dutch oven cooking, outdoor perils, women’s self defense, boating safety education, and all terrain vehicle operation. The BOW Field Day will be held rain or shine.
 
The BOW Field Day fee is $25 and includes lunch and snacks. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. An application is attached below and for more information contact Donald Hosse, TWRA Wildlife Education Program Coordinator, at don.hosse@tn.gov or telephone (615) 781-6541.
