TDOC Inmate Homicide Suspect Named

Only, TN - TDOC Internal Affairs agents have identified the person believed to be responsible for the homicide of an inmate at the Turney Center Industrial Prison in Hickman County. Daniel Whalen, 32, was found stabbed to death outside a prison cell around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
Physical evidence and witness testimony led agents to identify inmate Timothy Webb as the lone suspect in the incident. Webb, 24, is serving a three-year sentence for aggravated assault and burglary out of Knox County. His sentence was due to expire in September 2009.
The homicide case against him will be presented to the district attorney's office for prosecution.
