NASHVILLE - An inmate who escaped from the Charles B. Bass Correctional Complex in Nashville is back in TDOC custody.  Rodrickus Jefferson escaped from the facility sometime around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 17.  He was located approximately nine hours later inside the old Ford Glass Plant on Centennial Boulevard in West Nashville.

The TDOC Internal Affairs Division has launched an investigation to determine exactly how the escape occurred.  Jefferson suffered cuts to his hand and body as a result of scaling several razor-wire fences.  He is being housed at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville and will be charged with escape.

Jefferson is 25-years-old and is serving a life sentence for First Degree Murder out of Davidson County.  The Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Metro Nashville Police assisted TDOC staff in the capture.
