MEDIA ADVISORY: TDOT to Hold Public Meeting on Bolivar By-Pass and SR18 Projects

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Transportation will conduct a Public Information Meeting on February 17, 2009 in the Gymnasium of Bolivar Elementary School to discuss the proposed changes to the design of the State Route 15 (US 64) Bypass.  TDOT representatives will also provide the public with an update on the SR 18 project from Bolivar to SR 100. The meeting will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
 
Proposed changes to the SR15 (US 64) Bypass from the west side of Bolivar to the east side of the city will be presented to the public along with an update on the status of the SR 18 project from Bolivar to SR100. The public will be able to ask questions about the two projects following the brief presentation.  TDOT representative will also be on hand throughout the meeting to provide information on both projects.
 
In addition, local officials or their representatives are expected to present information on ongoing improvements in downtown Bolivar including a truck re-routing plan to temporarily detour trucks around the downtown area.
 
A court reporter will be on hand to record public comments and attendees will be provided with comment cards to record their thoughts on the two projects.  Please place this meeting on your community calendars.
