Monday, December 07, 2009 | 11:11am

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners has suspended the license of Daniel S. Fearnow, MD. The suspension of Fearnow’s license was effective December 4, 2009. As a result of the summary suspension, Fearnow was immediately prohibited from practicing medicine in the state.

Fearnow’s license was suspended for the following:
• Allegedly selling prescriptions of controlled substances to individuals without legitimate medical need.

Fearnow has the opportunity to appear at an informal hearing on this matter before the Board of Medical Examiners, scheduled for December 9, 2009, at 4 p.m. CT. At that hearing, the board will determine whether the public health, safety or welfare imperatively required emergency action and whether Fearnow’s license should remain suspended pending the outcome of a contested case proceeding in the matter. The meeting will be canceled if the physician declines participation.

Fearnow was originally licensed to practice medicine in Tennessee in 1981.
