Safety Record Dates Back to February 2008

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley announced that Eaton Corporation’s hydraulics facility in Gainesboro was chosen to receive the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety.

"Eaton Corporation demonstrated strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace," said Bob Henningsen, Deputy Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development, who presented the Governor’s Award of Excellence to the company today at the company’s facility located at 1107 N. Grundy Quarles Highway in Gainesboro. “The evaluation criteria for this award are challenging, and this company has worked extremely hard to meet and exceed the standards the award requires.”

The Governor’s Safety Award honors Tennessee employers and employees who meet a required number of hours without workplace injuries serious enough to cause an employee to miss a day of work or restrict normal job activities. The number of hours required is based on the size of the company.

Eaton’s Gainesboro facility employs 105 associates in the manufacturing of hydraulic hose fittings. They have worked over 312,000 hours without a lost time or restricted duty workplace injury or illness. Their accident free record dates back to February of 2008.

"This award is a tribute to the Gainesboro workforce," said Wes Thompson, plant manager. "Their belief in safety as our first priority and their commitment to working safely every day is the reason we are able to continually improve our programs and results."
