October TWRC Meeting Set for Knoxville

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission will vote on the 2010 sportfishing regulations among its agenda items during its meeting on Oct. 29-30 in Knoxville at the Holiday Inn Cedar Bluff.
 
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency gave a preview of the fishing regulations to the TWRC during its August meeting and the TWRC will be presented the regulations for approval at its October session. The bait regulation changes that were previewed at the September TWRC meeting will be also presented for commission approval at the October meeting. 
 
Among other agenda items, an update will be presented on the first-ever managed elk hunt in Tennessee, which recently concluded. Also, awards for TWRA's fisheries biologist and wildlife biologists of the year will be presented at the meeting.
 
The meetings are open to the public and media. Committee meetings will begin at 1 p.m. on the 29th and the regular commission meeting starts at 9 a.m. on the 30th.
