NASHVILLE --- The three winners have been chosen for the “Fish With A Pro” contest as part of the Wear It! Tennessee campaign. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency teamed with the Professional Anglers Association and Boat U.S. Foundation to sponsor the contest.

The winners are Andy Jones (Murfreesboro), Mike Hillebrand (Hendersonville), and Wayne True (Centerville). Each winner will have the opportunity to experience a day of fishing with a pro from the Professional Anglers Association. Jones will fish with Andy Morgan on Oct. 21 on Chickamauga Lake. Hillenbrand will fish with David Walker on Oct. 24 on Douglas Lake and True will fish with Charlie Ingram in November on Pickwick Lake. In addition, each winner receives a Mustang Survival Tournament Style automatic inflatable life jacket.

“The Fish with a Pro Contest was a raging success,” said Betsy Woods, TWRA Boating Education Coordinator. “According to the US Coast Guard, the single most important thing a person can do to stay safe on the water is simply wearing a life jacket and the Fish with a Pro Contest was designed to raise awareness for the benefits of life jacket safety.”

In addition to the individual winners, the fishing club that submitted the most entries wins a dozen Mustang Survival tournament style automatic inflatable life jackets.  The Kentucky Lake Bass Anglers Fishing Club had the most entries and will receive the PFDs.

The contest ran for almost three weeks and drew a total of 247 entries. The Wear It! Tennessee campaign promotes the wearing of a life jacket at all times while boating.
