Apprenticeship Presentation Offered

Monday, August 04, 2008 | 07:00pm

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Career Center at Paris will have a presentation discussing Apprenticeship Programs that are certified by the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship and the benefits to local businesses, on August 13, at 1:00 p.m. at 1023 Mineral Wells Avenue, Suite F, Paris.  Apprenticeship Programs are federally recognized and assist local businesses, which may not be able to find trained employees in their industry, to train workers for career positions.

Cedric Divine, the US Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship representative, will be giving the presentation and answering questions about the apprenticeship programs. He will also discuss grants that may be available to you with present apprenticeship programs.

Through apprenticeship programs the U.S. Department of Labor helps local businesses create and shape individually tailored training that place their employees and company on a nationally comparable level with others in their industry. Apprenticeship programs benefit workers and employers by creating job positions and producing qualified employees with the necessary skills for their profession.

Business owners and human resources managers are encouraged to attend to learn the benefits of apprenticeship programs. For more information about the apprenticeship presentation or a current list of apprenticeship occupations that are officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor please contact Ryan Thomas at the Tennessee Career Center in person at 1023 Mineral Wells Ave in Paris, Tenn., by phone at 731-644-7355, or by e-mail: ryan.thomas@tn.gov.
