Tennessee Storm Task Force Debris Removal Final Update

Nashville, Tenn. - Crews with the Tennessee Storm Task Force have completed their work in Macon County.  Task force workers removed nearly 3,400 dump truck loads of debris and wood chips equaling 36,664 cubic yards of debris collected in the Macon County area since operations began on Sunday, February 10. 

The Tennessee Department of Transportation coordinated the multi-agency operation which included forces from the Tennessee National Guard’s 913th Engineer Company of the 230th Engineer Brigade, Department of Agriculture’s Forestry Division, Department of Environment and Conservation, Department of Safety, the Clay County Highway Department, Macon County Highway Department, and Macon County EMA.

Crews began removing debris Sunday, February 10.  At close of business on Friday, February 29, TDOT and Forestry crews removed 2,374 dump truck loads of debris equaling 28,488 cubic yards of material.  The National Guard recorded 1,022 loads of debris removed equaling 8,176 cubic yards.
