McKendree Admissions Suspension Lifted

Wednesday, February 13, 2008 | 06:00pm

Tennessee Department of Health announces that the suspension of admissions at McKendree Village nursing home has been lifted effective February 12.

The facility’s Medicare provider agreement was revoked by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services effective November 29, 2007, and remains terminated. The nursing home is located at 4347 Lebanon Road in Hermitage. The Department confirmed the facility has returned to substantial compliance for state licensing purposes and the deficient practices and conditions have been corrected as stated in the facility’s plan of correction, which was approved by state authorities. On November 29, McKendree was ordered not to admit any new patients based on conditions found during a complaint investigation and an extended survey conducted October 19 through November 6. During the investigation, surveyors found violations of the following standards: administration; admissions, discharges, and transfers; performance improvement; physician services; nursing services; infection control services; staffing; medication administration; social work services; records and reports; resident protection; and quality of care.
