NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Transportation crews will make needed repairs to the Interstate 40 Westbound Bridge over Wilder Creek in Fayette County this weekend. As a result, Interstate 40 westbound in Fayette County will be reduced to one lane throughout the weekend.

Beginning Friday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m., crews will reduce I-40 westbound near mile marker 34.  The closure will remain in place until Monday, December 8 at 5:00 a.m.  During this time, crews will repair the concrete surface of the bridge.

TDOT will use portable message boards to alert motorists of the closures. Law enforcement will also be present in the area to assist with traffic.  Drivers should exercise caution as they travel through this work zone.
