Advisory: Governor Bredesen and First Lady Conte to Host Open House and Tree Lighting

Event at the Capitol Scheduled for Tuesday, December 9
NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen and First Lady Andrea Conte will host a holiday open house and Christmas tree lighting at the State Capitol on Tuesday, December 9, 2008. Contributions of canned and non-perishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee will also be accepted.
3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. CST -- Public is welcome to view holiday decorations inside the Capitol while enjoying refreshments and sounds of the season. The following school choirs will be performing: Franklin Road Academy Upper School Concert Choir, Tennessee School for the Blind Choir, and the Vanderbilt Dodecaphonics.
5 p.m. CST -- Governor Bredesen and First Lady Conte will light the official state Christmas tree and the Antioch High School Ensemble and Show Choir will perform. The event will take place on the south side of the State Capitol roundabout (Charlotte Avenue side).
