Chattanooga, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation and the City of Chattanooga announced Monday, December 15 that the Ashland Terrace widening project is complete and the roadway is fully open to traffic.

The project, which was overseen by TDOT for the city of Chattanooga, began in February 2007. The $6.8 million project widened and improved the 1.3-mile section of Ashland Terrace beginning at Knollwood Drive and extending to west of Norcross Road. The prime contractor for the project was Talley Construction Company from Rossville, Georgia.

“We are very pleased that this project is completed,” said TDOT Regional Director Bob Brown. “Ashland Terrace provides a vital link between Hixson Pike and Dayton Boulevard, and I want to commend the contractor for doing a great job and completing this project on time.”

Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield added, “Ashland Terrace has been in need of improvement for decades and serves as an important east – west connector. We have a great working relationship with TDOT and look forward to many more completed projects.”

With the completion of this section of Ashland Terrace, the roadway now has five lanes throughout its entire length.
