Advisory: TDOT to Hold SmartWay Grand Opening in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner Gerald Nicely will launch TDOT’s new Memphis SmartWay system at an event Thursday, November 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Memphis Traffic Management Center, 5344 Boswell Avenue. The new SmartWay system includes 115 cameras, 42 dynamic message boards, 354 traffic flow sensors, and this Transportation Management Center. The TMC is able to monitor 85 miles of interstate with this system.
