Media Advisory: Tennessee to Receive Grant from Verizon Foundation to Train Teachers to Use Innovative, Online Educational Resources at Thinkfinity.org

WHAT:  Department of Education to be awarded a grant from Verizon Foundation to provide online educational resources to teachers through Thinkfinity.org

INFO: The Verizon Foundation will announce the grant on November 12 at Lascassas Elementary School in Rutherford County. Both the Commissioner of Education and Michelle Robinson will make remarks. In addition to the grant announcement, 3rd-grade teacher Bethany Miller will lead her class through an interactive lesson using Thinkfinity.org resources.  
Thinkfinity.org is the Verizon Foundation’s free, comprehensive Web site containing more than 55,000 educational resources, including standards-based, grade-specific, K-12 lesson plans, online educational games, videos and other materials provided in partnership with many of the nation’s leading educational organizations.
