Murder Suspect Added to TBI's Top Ten Most Wanted

BLUFF CITY, Tenn.- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has added a Virginia man accused of murder to its list of TBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted fugitives in an effort to capture and arrest him.

Abrey Wayne Fortner, 31, last known address 2505 Gilmerton Road #1, Chesapeake, VA is wanted by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office for First Degree Murder. On September 5, 2008, Fortner entered the victim’s apartment at 4988 Bluff City Highway #3, Bluff City, TN and stabbed to death Arthur Theodore Burchard Jr., 40. The picture to the right was taken with the victim’s cell phone. Fortner was indicted by a Sullivan County Grand Jury last week.  His bond is set at $500,000.
 
Fortner is also wanted out of Virginia for Aggravated Assault, Burglary and Probation Violation. He was on probation for four counts of breaking and entering and concealing stolen property.
 
Fortner, who uses the aliases Buster Fortner or Brandon Lawson, is described as a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is approximately 5’11” and weighs about 190 lbs. Fortner has tattoos of Loyalty on the left side of his neck along with numerous tattoos on both arms and left fingers. He is considered armed and dangerous and should be approached with caution.
