Revenue Makes Professional Privilege Tax Filing Easy
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - For members of the 22 professional groups required to file professional privilege taxes annually on June 1, the process takes less than five minutes, thanks to the Tennessee Department of Revenue’s e-filing application and credit card payment option.
The Department of Revenue’s online tax filing service at www.Tennessee.gov/revenue allows filers to submit their personal information, select their professions, make a payment by credit card or electronic funds transfer and receive confirmation of their filing with a only few clicks of the mouse.
“The Department of Revenue is constantly trying to improve the efficiency of our tax data collection, as well as make the process as convenient as possible for our customers,” said Department of Revenue Commissioner Reagan Farr. “We hope our professional taxpayers will take advantage of e-filing and credit card payment while being assured that the data is confidential and protected under Tennessee law.”
Customers can pay via credit card at the department’s Web site, www.Tennessee.gov/revenue. MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card are accepted with an associated 2.49 percent processing fee. The department is working to add this convenient payment option to other online tax filing applications.
