Jiffy Steamer Company, LLC, Receives Governor’s Safety Award

NASHVILLE - Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley announced that Jiffy Steamer Company, LLC, in Union City will receive the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety.

“Jiffy Steamer has met the evaluation standards this award requires by proving their ability to uphold an excellent safety record,” said James Neeley, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, who presented the Governor’s Award of Excellence to the company today at the company’s facility at 4462 Ken-Tenn Highway.  “It is evident that Jiffy Steamer Company is extremely dedicated to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.”

The Governor’s Award honors Tennessee employers and employees who meet a required number of hours during a calendar year without workplace injuries serious enough to cause an employee to miss a day of work or restrict normal job activities.  The number of hours required is based on the size of the company.

Jiffy Steamer has been manufacturing steaming equipment for the travel, personal and professional industries since 1940.  The facility has operated over 154,000 man hours without a lost time or restricted duty incident. This injury free record dates back to January 2005.
