Rivermont Care and Rehabilitation Center Admissions Suspension Lifted

Tennessee Department of Health announces that the suspension of admissions at Rivermont Care and Rehabilitation Center has been lifted effective October 2, 2007. Rivermont Care and Rehabilitation Center is a 165-bed licensed nursing home located at 201 East 10th Street in South Pittsburg. The Department conducted a follow-up survey and confirmed the facility has returned to substantial compliance for state licensing purposes, and the deficient practices and conditions have been corrected as stated in the facilitys plan of correction, which was approved by federal and state authorities.

On September 26, Rivermont was ordered not to admit any new patients based on conditions found during an annual survey conducted August 27 through September 10. During the investigation, surveyors found violations of social services and residents rights standards.
