Overton Park Health Care Center Admissions Suspension Lifted

The Tennessee Department of Health announces that the suspension of admissions at Overton Park Health Care Center has been lifted effective October 17, 2007.

Overton Park is a 169-bed licensed nursing home located at 131 North Tucker in Memphis. The Department conducted a follow-up survey and confirmed the facility has returned to substantial compliance for state licensing purposes, and the deficient practices and conditions have been corrected as stated in the facility’s plan of correction, which was approved by federal and state authorities.

On October 3, Overton Park was ordered not to admit any new patients based on conditions found during an annual survey conducted September 17 through September 25. During the investigation, surveyors found violations of administration and basic services, and nursing services standards.
