Deer Hunting Results for AEDC WMA Held December 1-3

13 deer (10 buck, 3 doe) and 2 hen turkeys were taken on the non-quota either sex deer/turkey archery hunt on AEDC Wildlife Management Area, which was held on Dec. 1-3, 2006. This was the last deer hunt of the season on the WMA.

A total of 481 deer (246 buck, 235 doe) have been taken on the AEDC WMA hunts this season.  A total of 12 turkey (3 toms, 1 jake, and 8 hens) were taken during the fall archery hunts.
The best buck taken this hunt was a 121 lb. field dressed (estimated 154 lbs. whole weight) 8 pointer harvested by Tracey Penny of Ooltewah, TN.
AEDC WMA will be open to small game hunting for the remainder of the statewide seasons.
Waterfowl hunting is allowed only on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday on AEDC WMA and Woods Reservoir for the remainder of the duck season.
The Woods Reservoir Waterfowl Refuge will be closed to all public use from Dec.1- Jan. 31.
